CELEBRATING OUR PAST
Embracing our FutureIn June at the 2017 Reflections of a Diamond AIM Celebration in Nashville, Tennessee, AIMfeatured a “history wall” of seven panels that gave Members a look back at AIM’s 35 years.
Although history is still being written we can proudly Celebrate our Past, while Embracing our Future.
1982• On April 8, 1982, American Image Marketing (AIM) is founded as a California
corporation with Jim Kling as Vice President and Dennis Itami as Chairman ofthe Board. In September, AIM changes to an Idaho corporation.
• Barleygreen, the predecessor of AIM BarleyLife, is offered in a 5.3-ounce jar and is sold in six-packs.
• AIM’s first offices are located at Keener Business Park in Nampa, Idaho. Additional space is leased after a couple of months as the company grows rapidly.
• To become an AIM Retailer requires a $120 minimum purchase of product from your sponsor. Commission earning titles are AIM Manager, Supervisor and Director.
• In November, Ron Wright joins the Board of Directors.
1983• In February, Ron Wright is elected Executive Vice President.• After one year in business, AIM has 6,000 distributor Members on record.• Dennis Itami meets with Dr. Yoshihide Hagiwara for the first time in Japan.• In October, Ron Wright is elected President.• The AIM Healthy Cell Concept is introduced.
1984• An enhanced marketing plan adding the Elite Director titles
and the Chairman’s Club is introduced.• The first big contest is introduced; prizes include a trip to Hawaii, Las Vegas or
Lake Tahoe.• Jim Kling is elected Executive Vice President of Marketing. • Ron Wright, Dennis Itami and Jim Kling meet with
Dr. Yoshihide Hagiwara in Honolulu, Hawaii.
1985• Barleygreen with kelp is introduced in a 7-ounce jar.• AIM’s logo is changed to depict the U.S. flag within the word AIM.• The first AIM Convention, the “Summer Fun Rally” is held in Lake Tahoe, Nevada,
in August.
1986• Dr. Yoshihide Hagiwara speaks at the AIM rallies in Orlando, Dallas and Boise in
August.• AIM gives away its first new car as a contest grand prize, a 1986 Chrysler Fifth
Avenue, to Janet and O’Ferrall Pauly.• Contest winners enjoy a four-day Bahamas “Cruise with AIM” in November.
1987• In January, AIM’s corporate headquarters moves to a location on Flamingo
Avenue in Nampa, Idaho, across the street from its current address. • In May, NAIM Inc. offices open in Calgary, Alberta.• In June, AIM’s five-year anniversary celebration is held in Boise, Idaho.• The AIM magazine is produced in full color
for the first time.• Joe Koshi of California becomes the first AIM Member
to reach the Chairman’s Club.
1988• In January, the corporation’s name is changed to AIM International, Inc.• AIM Herbal Fiberblend and Coenzyme Q10 are introduced.• AIM experiences a Barleygreen shortage. From April to August, Membership
purchases of Barleygreen are rationed. Split packs, consisting of three jars of Barleygreen and three canisters of Herbal Fiberblend, are offered during the shortage.
• Dennis Itami is elected President of AIM International.• AIM holds a seven-day Caribbean cruise with
40 Members attending.• A popular sales tool, the hand blender or hand mixer,
is introduced.
1989• Contest winners attend a luxury trip to Japan.• The idea of AIM as a “Partnership for Life” is introduced.• AIM’s seventh anniversary celebration is held in Boise, Idaho.• AIM Composure is introduced.
1990• “The Royal Adventure,” AIM’s first international convention,
is held in Orlando, Florida.• AIM Member Harry Sneider breaks the bench press world record by lifting 400
pounds.• YH Products Inc. opens in Oxnard, California, and starts producing U.S.
Barleygreen for the first time. • AIM Member Gretchen Mack, at over 80 years old, receives
the gold medal in swimming at the World Senior Games.• Leadership Performance Bonuses are added to the AIM Marketing Plan.• AIM Gingko is introduced.• AIM begins offering products in two-packs. Previously most products could only
be purchased in six-packs or greater.
1991• AIM’s “The Royal Voyage” international convention is held in Vancouver, British
Columbia, with top contest winners going on an Alaskan cruise.• Barleygreen caplets and Just Carrots are introduced.
1992• The “Celebrating 10 Years Together” AIM convention is held in Boise, Idaho,
featuring motivational speaker Og Mandino and Dr. Hagiwara, who dresses as a rodeo cowboy.
• An 11,000 square-foot expansion opens at the Nampa offices in April.
1993• The AIM Magazine is renamed Partners – The AIM Newsmagazine.• AIM “Respond to the Challenge” regional conventions are held in Oxnard, Banff,
Puerto Rico, Niagara Falls and Orlando.• The first annual Texas BarleyLife Convention is organized by Texas Members.• AIM RediBeets and Herbal Release are introduced.
1994• A new, 24,000 square-foot distribution center and production studio opens
across the street from the Nampa office headquarters.• In September, the AIM Australia office opens in Melbourne, Victoria. • AIM “Share the Challenge” regional conventions are held in San Diego, Toronto,
Vancouver and San Antonio, with top contest winners earning a luxury trip to Hawaii.
• AIM introduces Proancynol and the Garden Trio.
1995• The AIM Celebration ’95! is held in San Francisco, California.• AIM joins Operation Blessing on the mission to help the hungry and less
fortunate, a program that AIM continues to support today through LotshawHelping Hands.
• In October, AIM New Zealand is formed.• AIM CranVerry is introduced.
1996• The AIM Celebration ’96! is held in Boca Raton, Florida.• In June, the AIM South Africa office opens in Johannesburg.• AIM Bear Paw Garlic, CellSparc 360, Renewed Balance and a Barleygreen 10.5-
ounce canister debut.
1997• AIM Canada’s 10th and AIM’s 15th anniversary,
The Celebration ’97!, is held in Banff, Alberta. • An enhanced compensation plan, “AIM’s Ladder of Opportunity,” is introduced.• Dennis and Kay Itami move to New Zealand.• The AIM call center converts to full service, streamlining customer service for
Members.• AIM is named one of the top 75 private companies in Idaho, an award earned
many times in the years that follow.• AIM International is named one of the top twenty companies in Wealth
Building Magazine.• AIM ReAssure and Para 90 are introduced.
1998• The AIM “Sizzling Success” Celebration ‘98! is held in Scottsdale, Arizona.• AIM rolls out new Windows-based software for customer service and
commission calculations, dubbed “Nutrition Suite” or “Nutri-Suite” for short.
• AIM Teleclasses begin.
1999• The AIM “Creating History, Building Dreams”
Celebration ’99! is held in Baltimore, Maryland.• An automated telephone information system called Information Express is
introduced.• AIM’s corporate website, www.theaimcompanies.com,
is introduced.• AIM Members can purchase products in single units
for the first time.• The AIM Living Well concept is introduced.• AIM’s current corporate headquarters, a three-floor office building, is completed
adjacent to the existing distribution center and production studio.• The Million Dollar Club is established. • AIM Proancynol 2000, Frame Essentials, PrepZymes and FloraFood are
introduced.
2000• The AIM “Tune In To The Possibilities”
Celebration 2000! is held in Nashville, Tennessee. • The Directors AIMing Higher training program is established.• BizLink, business management software, is introduced.• AIM introduces Cell Wellness Restorer.
2001• The AIM “Livin’ La Vida Buena” Celebration 2001! is held in Miami Beach, Florida.• AIM debuts a new corporate logo, The AIM Companies “circle.” “Nutrition,
Opportunity, Success” is added as a tagline in 2005.• AIM Health Solutions, which targets categories of health concerns, is introduced.• AIM introduces AIM GinkgoSense and GlucoChrom.
2002• AIM celebrates its 20th anniversary with the “Aloha to Life” convention in Hawaii. • Dennis Itami becomes President and CEO, and Ron Wright becomes Senior
Vice President of The AIM Companies.• AIM BarleyLife, a new barley juice concentrate utilizing improved growing,
harvesting, and production technologies and methods, is introduced.• AIM Herbal Fiberblend unflavored powder is introduced.
2003• The AIM “Get Connected!” 2003 Convention is held
in Vancouver, B.C.• Ron Wright becomes President and CEO of
The AIM Companies.• AIM BarleyLife capsules are introduced.
2004• The 2004 “AIM for Health and Wealth” Convention
is held in Boise, Idaho.• AIM begins sponsoring short track speed skater and three-time Olympic
medalist J.R. Celski at age 13.• The first annual Ohio AIM Conference is held.• AIM Herbal Fiberblend capsules are introduced.
2005• The AIM “It’s About Your Life” 2005 Convention is
held in Tucson, Arizona.• Starter packs are introduced as a special offer to
new Members.• AIM’s replicating website for Members,
MyAIMStore.com, launches in North America.• AIM United Kingdom opens.• AIM BarleyLife Xtra and AIMega are introduced.
2006• The AIM “Get a Kick Out of Life” 2006 Convention is held in San Antonio, Texas.• The SmartStart incentive program is launched.• AIM Partners magazine is renamed Partners – Living Well.
2007• The AIM “Reunion of Life” 2007 Convention is held in
Orlando, Florida. NBA professional basketball player J.J. Redick is AIM’s featured speaker.
• AIM introduces Peak Endurance.
2008• The AIM “Life Inspired Dreams” 2008 Convention is
held in Norfolk, Virginia.• AIM-sponsored short track speed skater J.R. Celski makes U.S. World Cup team.• AIM videos become available on a new website, YouTube.com.• AIM introduces CalciAIM, LeafGreens and ReAssure SP.
2009• The AIM “Life’s All About Relationships” 2009 Convention is held in Las Vegas,
Nevada.• AIM-sponsored short track speed skater J.R. Celski makes the U.S. Olympic
team.• AIM’s Automatic Monthly Reorder (AMR) program
is introduced.• AIM begins a social media presence on Facebook
and other websites.• AIM fit ’n fiber and ProPeas are introduced.• J.R. Celski injures his left leg during a crash in the Olympic trials semifinals,
requiring 60 stitches and five months of rehabilitation leading up to the 2010 Olympics. J.R. credits AIM nutrition helping in his amazing recovery.
• AIM-sponsored speed skater J.R. Celski wins two bronze medals at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, B.C., Canada.
2010• The AIM “Life is Good!” 2010 Convention is held in
Park City, Utah.• AIM Member meetings grow from Ohio, Texas, Michigan and New York to
Indiana, Kentucky, South Carolina and other locations.
2011• The AIM “Hooked on Nutrition!” 2011 Convention is held in Seattle, Washington.• AIM introduces online webinars with “Webinar Wednesdays” in April.• AIM CranVerry+ is introduced.
2012• AIM celebrates its 30th anniversary with the “Sail-a-bration” aboard a Caribbean
cruise. • AIM-sponsored speed skater J.R. Celski sets the world record in the 500-meters
and wins the U.S. national championship.• AIM introduces the AIM Academy of
Nutrition & Success.
2013• The AIM “Simply the BEST!” 2013 Convention is held in
Boise, Idaho. • AIM introduces the Mag-nificence magnesium line,
CoCoa LeafGreens and fit ‘n fiber apple-cinnamon.
2014• The AIM 2014 Convention is held in Savannah, Georgia.• AIM-sponsored speed skater J.R. Celski wins the silver medal in the men’s
3000m relay at the Winter Olympics. • AIM introduces Red Rush, a nitric-oxide boost from concentrated beet juice.• AIM Member and sponsored athlete Lew Hollander becomes the oldest athlete
to ever complete an Ironman triathlon.• Dennis Itami and Ron Wright, co-owners of The AIM Companies, trade
executive roles. Dennis Itami becomes President and CEO and Ron Wright becomes Senior Vice President.
2015• The “Revitalize Your AIM!” 2015 Conference is held in Scottsdale, Arizona. • O’Ferrall Pauly is inducted into the Seven Million
Dollar Club.• The AIM Director Promotion Awards are introduced.• “Chrysalis – Transforming your Life with AIM” business training is launched.• The first Fresh Focus, a supplemental magazine to Living Well, is introduced.
2016• The AIM “Believe to Achieve” 2016 Conference is held in Branson, Missouri. • Dr. Mary Ruth Swope is inducted into the Eight Million
Dollar Club.• AIM reintroduces fit ’n fiber peach thanks to Member requests.
2017• The AIM 2017 “Reflections of a Diamond” 35th
Anniversary Celebration is held in Nashville, Tennessee. • Carolyn Kling is inducted into the Eight Million Dollar Club.• AIM BarleyLife, Just Carrots and RediBeets achieve kosher certification, and
BarleyLife 360-gram and 180-gram canisters achieve gluten-free AIM certification.
