Co-Curricular Activities (CCA) CCA is an integral part of holistic development of our

pupils.

• A platform to build character and values, like

responsibility, self discipline and life skills

• Provide opportunities to discover and develop

their strength, leadership, interest and talent for

sport, uniform group, performing arts or club &

society.

• Promotes social integration and teamwork

This helps your child to lead a balanced life in adulthood.

It is not the CCA participation per se that enhances educational outcomes. It is the fact that the activity provides skills, strength, networks and support, plus social and personal rewards.

Common CCA training hours

Every Tuesday

– 2:30pm to 5:30pm

Every Friday

– 2:15pm to 5:30pm

• Any additional training will be notified by respective

teacher-in-charge

Compulsory for all students to have 1 school based CCA

Your child’s active participation is important

Attend the CCA regularly – Any absence must be

supported by medical certificate or valid reasons. Follow

up action by CCA teacher’s phone call.

Open minded - Learn new skills and stretch their potential

Learn to interact with friends from different race, levels

and streams

LEAPS 2.0 Participation

Recognises students’ participation in one school-based Co-Curricular Activity (CCA).

Recognition is based on

the number of years of participation,

regular attendance of the same CCA with at least 75% of attendance

LEAPS 2.0 Service

Recognise a student’s Values-In-Action (VIA) hours to the community.

Every student will contribute at least 6 hours per school year to the community.

Recognition will also be given for other VIA projects that the students take part

LEAPS 2.0 • At the end of the graduating year, students’ co-curricular

attainment will be recognised according to

Post Sec Education Advantage

Junior College/Polytechnic/ ITE, excluding Pre-U course

Excellent – 2 bonus points

Good – 1 bonus point

Fair – 0 bonus point

Note:

Need to meet the entry requirements for admission first.

E.G Entry requirement for junior college is L1R5 ≤ 20 points

• Pupils must participate in one school based CCA.

• Activity will not be awarded with level attainment if a pupil

chooses activity conducted by outside organisation but

refuses to participate in school for same CCA

• Activities by outside organisation need to be endorsed by

school.

• Please inform us by means of written request ( letter /

email) for your child’s participation in outside CCA.

• Students in the mandatory CCA ie, NCC and

NPCC are not permitted to change their CCA.

• If they insist, the level attained in these activities

cannot be carried to their new CCA.

• Members of these CCA can only change

activities if they have medical reasons.

• Your child is required to visit 5 CCAs in total

during the CCA trial weeks.

• He/she will be given 2.5 hours to visit one CCA of

his/her interest during each CCA trial date

• Expectations of students for the trials:

• Report in appropriate attire for the trial

• Proactively find out more about the CCA in terms of

• Nature of programme/activity

• Training’s intensity/frequency

CCA allocation • Choose 4 CCAs of his/her choice. He/She need not rank

his/her choices. He/she will be assigned a CCA within the 4 choices

Allocation of CCA is guided by the ‘Matching Principle’. Students will be allocated based on students’ choice and CCA teachers’ rank list.

The likelihood of getting the CCA of his/her choice depends on the vacancy in CCA and his/her aptitude.

Online submission of choices using Learner Management System (LMS) at school website by 27 Jan 2016, 10pm .
