CASE STUDY RWWA 2

▪ An expandable system that could grow to incorporate new company processes and users, and be upgraded to ensure innovations and developments are up to date

▪ An aesthetically pleaseing and easy to use interface, called onTRACK

The Customer

▪ Racing and Wagering Western Australia (RWWA)

▪ RWWA’s vocation is to foster the development and long-term viability of the racing industry in Western Australia

▪ Needed to amalgamate numerous other systems and processes into one single training platform

The Advantages

▪ One central platform customised to meet the specific needs of RWWA

▪ Diverse and thorough reports on all users and their training

▪ Ability for RWWA to sell training modules to external clients

▪ A system that’s available on multiple devices

▪ Cost Savings for RWWA

The Challenges

RWWA is the management body for thoroughbreds, harness and greyhound racing in Western Australia. The

organisation’s primary purpose is to manage the long-term viability of racing in Western Australia. RWWA is also

responsible for managing off-course wagering functions, trading as TAB, which incorporates the management of

About Palfinger AG

“The Wagering Operations team are becoming con-fident users with onTRACK and have done a great job with their performance reviews (DPA) especially with their Values and Behaviours. The introduction of the online performance reviews (DPA) has been positive for our team, giving us the opportunity to discuss our current and future goals and generally making the time to have one on one valuable dis-cussions.”

▪ RWWA work in a heavily legislated industry

and require a flexible and reliable Learning

Management System (LMS) to manage and

record training of employees. The proposed LMS

needed to be able to manage development plans

and record all training undertaken by staff.

▪ It was also necessary that RWWA had a

secure way to distribute and record compli-

ance training for TAB employees. The records

produced needed to be legally compliant and

adhere to internal policy requirements.

▪ Before IMC, RWWA used multiple plat-

forms to record and deliver their training

and subsequently had no central record

of staff training and development.

Reasons for the project

“I have found that the new onTRACK LMS is a user friendly program which allows me to easily select training modules that are relevant to my role and the system also allows me to track which training modules I am yet to complete. This is particularly relevant to me personally but far more important for RWWA in rolling out stan-dards on Health & Safety related programs.”

Justin Fletcher, OSH Advisor

Objectives

RWWA had the following objectives which were

achieved during the project:

▪ Meet compliance requirements for adher-

ence to legal and internal policies

▪ Encourage informal, social learning – through

chat rooms and discussion forums, so

staff can collaborate with each other

▪ A completely customisable and

configurable platform

▪ Sell training to external individuals

▪ Individual profiles that are tailored to

the specific needs of each user

“onTRACK is keeping me on track. I have access to resource materi-als to enable me to find answers, personal development pertinent to the Business and can keep abreast of business requirements such as Health & Safety. Having access to training online at busy times of year, like when the Melbourne Cup comes around, is a great way to refresh.”

Noel Reilly, Racing Division Project Manager (RGIP)

Solution – RWWA’s onTRACK system ▪ The solution was an LMS that was customisable and

allowed different users to access different learning

modules via the IMC Learning Suite. onTRACK distin-

guishes between internal RWWA employees and TAB

agents, enabling separate access rights for the two

different sets of learning requirements. Furthermore,

RWWA were able to sell training to external agents

through a dedicated payment gateway.

▪ The LMS also incorporates IMC’s authoring tool

Content Studio, which enables learning to be delivered

in a wide variety of formats. This has provided diverse

training for employees that is engaging and improves

the quality of learning.

▪ The platform was a cost effective solution, particu-

larly as it amalgamated a number of other systems,

reducing overall costs. By incorporating numerous

customisable functions, the system enabled RWWA

to carry out many tasks on the system, including

documentation management, reporting, perfor-

mance management, as well as managing training.

“onTRACK has been invaluable to me in rela-tion to leadership expectations around Values & Behaviours, building our culture and keeping my staff up to speed with general training require-ments, as all information required is easily acces-sible. Having a 24x7 system in place is of great value especially for my team who work in 24x7 shifts.”
