Activities AvailableGroups have been using our activities since the centre opened in 1992. They are ideal for team building, ice breakers, a treat or as part of an activity week. Our staff can teach all ages from 8 years through to those attending university.

Sailing After a short explanation on the land, students will then have the chance to try sailing on the water. There is a real sense of accomplishment through learning basic boat controls and sailing techniques.

Windsurfing A first session introduces balancing techniques to help build confidence on the water. On land the instructors demonstrate the basic skills students need before practising on the water.

Paddlesports Following a quick warm up exercise to get the muscles going, the instructors teach various paddle techniques. Students are introduced to the kayak or canoe they will use and as always the vital safety points are covered. Students learn through playing games and challenges where their paddling skills are put to the test.

Raft Building An ideal team building activity ideally suited to larger groups. A typical session will begin with some land based team activities before building the rafts. On the water a variety of team challenges put the teamwork and rafts to the test.

Cycling (guided) Let our instructors do the hard work for you! The centre staff will take the students on one of the cycle routes around the reservoir. The benefit of our local knowledge ensures all abilities are catered for.

Cycling (hire only) You can hire our bikes to cycle your own route. (you will be required to submit your own risk assessment for approval prior to your visit)

Bell boating A bell boat is similar to a long canoe that students sit in and paddle whilst an instructor steers. A typical session sees the group split into two teams who after some familiarisation on the water, compete in various races against one another.

Orienteering Our instructors will teach the basics of how to read an orienteering map, students are then challenged to find markers placed around the site. This activity is suitable for students under 14.

Team Challenge By spending a day with us we can organise a range of team building activities for your students. Each team will take part in several activities throughout the day earning points on each challenge. At the end prizes are awarded to the winning team.

Fly Fishing These sessions are tailored to the interests of the students and suit smaller group sizes. The instructor can deliver a range of topics including fly casting tuition, basic fish biology and entomology.
