What We Have Already Achieved
• Addiction services are included in the Essential Benefits Package.
• The passage of the federal Parity Law.
• Creation of the MRT Behavioral Health Workgroup.
Moving Forward – The OASAS Vision
Patients will: • have their care coordinated,• have access to a peer to help bridge treatment and recovery,• have access to greater recovery supports, and • have more input into treatment that supports an improved
quality of life.
Protecting the Path Forward
Segregate and track behavioral health spending
Make sure BHOs are not pushed towards mental health rather than SUD
We will require managed care plans to:• Use APG pricing for two years • Reimburse for CASAC services• Include in plan networks providers in
treatment relationships with patients in those plans
• Use our level of care tool, the OASAS LOCATDR 3
