Accessing Free eLearning for CANARIE Higher Education Members This document details how to access the free Splunk eLearning given to you as part of being an CANARIE member as well as the terms associated with the subscription. Eligible CANARIE Universities will have access to free Splunk eLearning which meets the requirements for Splunk Certified Power User. The courses included are:
• Using Splunk (eLearning) • Searching and Reporting with Splunk (eLearning) • Creating Splunk Knowledge Objects (eLearning) • Splunk Infrastructure Overview (eLearning)

Details and Term Your subscription starts on 21 April 2017 and will expire on 31st December 2017. During this time anyone with an email address with the domain given to us by CANARIE will be allowed to sign-up and take the eLearning class with the fee waived. Please note that we can only support a limited number of domains (typically one) for each institution. As per our normal terms, the class can only be signed up for once and must be completed within 30 days of registration. We cannot extend the 30 days unless there are extenuating circumstances, and in all instances we will charge an admin fee of $100 per class. At the end of the subscription period, we will allow anyone who has signed up before the closure date the full 30 days in which to complete the class. We recommend registering for one class at a time. For help with the videos, quizzes or labs, please contact [email protected]
How to Sign Up To launch the eLearning class, you must be logged into our Learning Management System. You can access this system using your Splunk.com credentials. Go to https://inter.viewcentral.com/reg/splunk/login and login to your existing Splunk.com account. Your account must be associated with your business email address. Use the “Create your free account today.” link if you do not already have an account

Follow the steps to create your account. Please note that the eLearning subscription is allocated to the domain provided by CANARIE only, and the email address that you register with must match that domain. Failure to do this means you will be charged for the class. Once you have created your Splunk Education account and are able to login, click the “Search” link on the left to go to this page:
From the search page, select the delivery method of ‘e-Learning’ and then click on Search.
This will display all of our eLearning classes. For your subscription, you will see the option to add to cart at $0.00 USD.

Once you have added the class to the cart, click the Checkout link. Follow the check out procedure, which includes the agreements below. If you see a price on the item in your cart, please remove it and return to the search screen. You should only add the $0.00 option.
One you finish check out, you will be able to launch the course for the next 30 days.
