If India and China cooperate in the 21st century then they can become great powers

India and China in terms of per capita income are way behind the Western countries.

Western countries, in this case form twelve to ten times or more ahead of the times.

In spite of problems, the democracy of India is stable. The states of India are getting

powerful; it is not long when these states will also be called as federation of states of India just as

we have the United States of America. In the future, many new states are likely to arise.

However, India's democracy will continue. Middle-Class is expanding into India. Since 2010 the

Middle-Class in India will expand to about 30 Million which is comparable to the current

American population of about 31 million. China attracts all rich foreign companies as all of them

pry their eyes on its huge internal market. China has a population of 130 million, and China'seconomic growth rate of nine per cent makes it market large.

The Foreign direct investment in China in 2005 was six times more than that in India.

Communist country China has always welcomed multinational companies to work in their

market and Chinese people living abroad have contributed more to Chinese economy through

globalization as compared to the Indian NRI. China has accepted globalization, but it is accepted

on his own terms. China has not accepted globalization because of poverty. In 1978 China

accepted Import Export according to its policies, they have invited multinational companies to

trade in china. Because of the emphasis on exports rather than imports, China has amassed a very

large amount of foreign exchange (one even trillions of dollars).

In the course of China during the years from 1995 to 2005, imports have increased by ten

times, but that also increased the rate of increase of its exports. After China adopted communism

in 1949, it has committed many errors.

    Figure 2: Mao Tse Tung

Mao Tse Tung was a Chinese communist revolutionary, political theorist and politician.

The founding father of the People's Republic of China from its establishment in 1949, he

governed the country as Chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China

until his death. In this position he converted China into a single-party socialist state, with

industry and business being nationalized under state ownership and socialist reforms

implemented in all areas of society. Politically a Marxist-Leninist, his theoretical contribution to

the ideology along with his military strategies and brand of policies are collectively known as

    Maoism.

The Gang of Four was the name given to a political faction composed of four Chinese

Communist Party officials. They came to prominence during the Cultural Revolution (196676)

and were subsequently charged with a series of treasonous crimes. The members consisted of

Mao Zedong's last wife Jiang Qing, the leading figure of the group, and her close associates

Zhang Chunqiao, Yao Wenyuan, and Wang Hongwen.

Figure 3, 4: Gang of Four

The Gang of Four effectively controlled the power organs of the Communist Party of

China through the latter stages of the Cultural Revolution, although it remains unclear which

major decisions were made through Mao Zedong and carried out by the Gang, and which were

the result of the Gang of Four's own planning.

The Chinese lost thirty years under the rule of Mao Tse Tung and Gang of Four

while they lost ten years under the Cultural Revolution which cost millions of Chinese their

lives. Many intellectuals and many lay men were killed. It is necessary to emphasize on this

matter as during the past 1000 years, China has been a major economic and political power in the

world. During its early decades China was a leading country of the world with respect to

technology. America was not even formed at that time. India's culture is considered to be about

4700 years old and in the past India has contributed a lot to Mathematics and Grammar. But on

account of the industrialization by England in 1350, both the countries fell back. They have

remained Agricultural Countries. The next 100 years, they are likely to be back on stage on the

top of the world. But India and China in terms of per capita income more than the western world.

Even if China increases economic growth rate every year by 8 to 10 percent per capita even then

it will lag far behind western rank. For china and India to prosper they have to increase their

percentage by 8 10 % to employ the crores of people of its country. These two countries,

thousands, millions and millions of villagers ascend to the cities in search of employment

because the village does not have a future. The western world does not do so now because it is an

urban society populated villages and cities there have been decades earlier. People living in cities

in the west are more as compared to the count of that in villages, people are not only less

abundant but almost all facilities available to them in cities are also available to them in villages.

In China and India if millions of rural people are not provided employment opportunities

then the political structure might collapse. To avoid this India and China will have to continue to

maintain a rate of 7-8 per cent or more economic growth; both countries need to increase the

proportion of women to men. In 2020 in China 3 to 4 million men will be forced to remain

unmarried due to lack of women. Even in India at certain places for every 100 females there are

as high as 122 men. There is no caste system in China, so China's men can marry from women in

the surrounding countries as Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Philippines); whereas the

caste society of India will prohibit Indian men from such intercaste marriages.

Figure 5:Chinas Total Population in Millions till 1989

China's current population is approximately 130 million and its one child policy has

limited population growth in the last 30 years of 30 million people.

Figure 6: Population Annual Growth Rate in India

In India there is a recommendation of two children per family, but the government has

not taken it seriously, it is only on words no actions are taken whatsoever. India's population is

growing as well. Although the population growth rate has been falling behind government

policies, but also girls' education (Female Education) is responsible. There has been a notable

increase in the number of mobile users in China and India. It also increased the number internet

    users.

These two tools are increasingly exchanging information easy to users of all levels.

China's economy is relatively liberal and offers a free-market, while its politics follow

dictatorship. Today China is a communist Nation but sooner or later the Chinese will demand for

democracy. If China strikes on its democratic thinkers then on a long term basis the country will

fall just as soviet Russia did. It is as follows. The present and the previous communist leaders of

China went to Russia to study from there, it is from there that they adapted the communist

system, before that china was ruled by kings and it was the kings who were responsible for the

overall development of the nation, and the people worshipped the kings. The children of Rulers

of present China get their education from Harvard, Cambridge, Princeton and Stanford

Universities. How will these impacts on China's future cannot be told. China is currently the

worlds number one manufacturer (not in terms of quality but in terms of cheap manufacturing

practices), this position was held by India centuries ago, but it is becoming a global workshop

and thereby degrading its own atmosphere filling it with overwhelming pollution. India is still

progressing a lot in the field can manufacturing but India's infrastructure (roads, electricity,

ports, administrative structure) is weakly bent so that China can not be reached. What is that if

India and China brings about cooperation between the two countries then they can increase trade

a lot. After the Industrial Revolution in 1750 many countries suffered and many prospered, this

led to trade between the poor countries and the rich countries. Now it is their interest in the

mutual business. Instead of North - South trades the South - South countries must increase trade

between them then the two sides would benefit.

    Conclusion

India and China are in terms of per capita income, just behind the Western countries.

Western countries, in this case form twelve to ten times or more.

In India there are more farmers and child laborers than there are people working in the

offices. In today's world, creating a superpower a country has to become a knowledge society.

India and China are also very behind in terms of innovations. World - class universities, research

institutes, but they are behind. A large number of English speaking people in India who can write

English too, this gives India an edge over China, also both countries have realized atomic power.

India and China may become superpowers in the 21st century in terms of population, it is not

possible economically. The current state is that its population is increasing and in order to control

it the Congress or BJP or any other political party is not serious. The believers in Gandhi

Philosophy are obscure about controlling population as they believe in equality to all.
