Reservaons can be made up to 48 hours prior to arrival and no more than 11 months in advance. Campers must obtain a camping permit by self-registraon or from state forest staff prior to seng up camp. A vehicle admission scker is required for all motor vehicles stopping in state forest campgrounds and Connors Lake Picnic area. You can pay this fee when you get to your desnaon or buy an annual park scker in advance. Maximum camping duraon is 14 days in a 21-day period. • Permits are valid from 3 pm of the first day to 3 pm of the last day. Campfires Contain fires within the metal fire ring provided at each site. • Firewood is not available at campgrounds. Purchase firewood from vendors within 10 miles of the campground, bring DATCP cerfied firewood, or gather dead and down wood on the state forest. Make sure fire is completely out before leaving. • Charcoal and gas grills are allowed. Carefully dispose of used charcoal. Family Camping Family camping is available at Lake of the Pines Campground from April 15 unl December 15, and Connors Lake Campground from noon Thursday before Memorial Day thru Labor Day weekend. Connors Lake Campground may stay open later on a first-come first served basis (weather perming); contact the forest office for fall campground status. Both campgrounds provide swimming beaches, pit toilets, fire rings and water. Self-registraon is available at Lake of the Pines Campground. Connors Lake Campground provides self-registraon in addion to online registraon through CAMIS (see camping permits on back). River Camping River camping is available at 14 group, semi-primive and primive campsites along the Flambeau River – providing more than 30 campsites. Each campsite provides two to three camping units for mulple groups. Campsites provide a picnic table, fire ring and pit toilet. Sites are available on a first-come, first-served basis and are limited to a one-night stay. River camping is restricted to boat-in access only, and to designated sites only. There is no fee required. Backpack Camping Backpack camping by permit is allowed nearly everywhere in the forest. Detailed informaon is available in the backpack camping brochure available at the forest headquarters. Hunter Camping Hunter camping is allowed with a permit, only during the nine-day deer gun season. Free permits must be obtained prior to October 31 and can be picked up at the forest headquarters or requested by mail at: Flambeau River State Forest, W1613 County Road W, Winter, WI 54896. Off-season Camping Off-season camping at Lake of the Pines Campground is available unl December 15 for fall and winter campers. Be aware that only the lower loop is snow plowed. Violaon may result in citaons and/or loss of camping privileges. Sanitary Facilies • Water is available at both campgrounds. • In order to maintain safe water – don’t wash dishes at the pumps. • Trash and recycling receptacles are provided at all campgrounds for registered campers. No glass boles may be in your possession at Lile Falls-Slough Gundy Scenic Area or within any watercraſt, landings or river campsites on the Flambeau River. Pets Pets must be on a leash no more than eight feet long in campgrounds and other designated areas. Please clean up aſter your pet. Pets are not allowed in buildings, picnic areas, playgrounds, beaches or on ski trails. Motor Vehicles • All vehicles must have a Wisconsin State Parks and Forest admission scker on the lower leſt-hand corner of the windshield, or pay the daily/ hourly fee with a self-registraon envelope provided. No more than two vehicles may be parked at a campsite. Keep vehicles on gravel pads. • Park addional vehicles at designated parking lots. Camping Permits• For reservations, contact CAMIS at wisconsin.goingtocamp.com or 1-888-947-2757. Reservations can be made up to 48 hours prior to arrival and no more than 11 months in advance. • Campers must obtain a camping permit by self-registration or from state forest staff prior to setting up camp. A vehicle admission sticker is required for all motor vehicles stopping in state forest campgrounds and Connors Lake Picnic area. You can pay this fee when you get to your destina tion or buy an annual park sticker in advance. • Maximum camping duration is 14 days in a 21-day period. • Permits are valid from 3 pm of the first day to 3 pm of the last day.

Campfires• Contain fires within the metal fire ring provided at each site. • Firewood is not available at campgrounds. Purchase firewood from vendors within 10 miles of the campground, bring DATCP certified firewood, or gather dead and down wood on the state forest. • Make sure fire is completely out before leaving. • Charcoal and gas grills are allowed.
