Since crabs live on land and in the sea, Sebastian gets plenty of terrific ideas from both! Sebastian makes music from all the sounds he hears -- under the water and on the shore. Sebastian is a Caribbean Crab who loves making music! Like all musicians and composers, he’s inspired by the sounds from his every day life. Since crabs live on land and in the sea, Sebastian gets plenty of terrific ideas from both!

Sebastian makes music from all the sounds he hears -- under the water and on the shore. When he combines them together, his music can make you feel like you are on a far-away tropical island. Music can take you on a journey, tell you a story, or make you smile. That’s what Sebastian and all musicians like to do.

Calypso is Sebastian’s favorite

kind of music! Calypso is a vibrant,

energetic style of music that comes

from the Caribbean nation of Trinidad

BOTTLE MARACAS !

BOX GUITAR! YOU WILL NEED: You’ll need an scissors, empty box, a few large rubber bands and a pencil.

INSTRUCTIONS: 1) Have an adult cut an oval hole in the center of the box. 2) Decorate your box with paint, glitter, seashells and whatever you like! Let dry. 3) Stretch four rubber bands around the box making sure they are over the center of the hole. 4) Slide a pencil under the rubber bands, near the bottom of the box. 5) Strum away!

INSTRUCTIONS: 1) Find two empty plastic bottles. 2) Find two empty paper towel or toilet paper tubes. 3) Fill up part of your bottle with sand, seashells, gravel or dried beans. 4) Sound check: Test out the sound of your bottle by adding or removing the material inside. Replace the cap to your bottle when you’re happy with the sound. 5) Attach the tubes to your bottles with strong tape. 6) Decorate your new instruments with paint, glitter, seashells and whatever you like!

YOU WILL NEED: You’ll need empty plastic bottles, tape, empty paper towel or toilet paper tubes, seashells, gravel or dried beans.

CREATIVE HINT:Plastic bottles come in all shapes and sizes. Use the shapes and patterns in the bottles you’re using as part of your decoration.
