Michael Baker (Oscar Wilde) is excited to be back on the Rover stage. He was last seen in Doctor U in various guises. He is a popular actor “East of 75”, having worked with the Garland Civic Theater, Community of Rowlett Players, and the Art Center Theater. He was recently seen as FBI Agent Hosty on the History Channel documentary, Lee Harvey Oswald: 48 Hours to Live. He is represented by Core Talent. www.michael-baker.net Sara Blair (Lillie Langtree) is grateful to be making her first appearance at Rover Dramawerks in this Sherlock mystery. She is a graduate of Texas Wesleyan University and has performed in such plays as Arsenic & Old Lace and Pinocchio Comedia del Arte. “Thank you family and friends; nothing is possible without you.” Jamie Cadessa (Mrs. McGlynn) is excited to be performing at Rover Dramawerks this season. Trained as an aerialist, she has performed in multiple Shakespeare in the Park productions. Sri Chilukuri (Dr. Watson) is thrilled to be back at Rover! He loved performing since he was a kid, but he credits his teachers at North Lake College for molding him as an actor. His notable roles include Richard Hannay in The 39 Steps, Carthage Kilbride in By the Bog of Cats and Harold Dobbs in Proof. He wants to thank his cast and crew for all the support. And finally, he wants to dedicate this performance to his mom and dad. Robert Gemaihlich (Sherlock Holmes) is pleased to be making his debut at Rover Dramawerks. He has previously played Benedick in Much Ado About Nothing, Guildenstern in Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead, and Macbeth in Macbeth. Thank you for coming and enjoy the show! Patrick Lynwood Henry (Professor Moriarty) is super-duper stoked to return to the Rover stage with such an awesome cast and crew. He likes pina coladas and getting caught in the rain. He's not into yoga. He's into champagne, which is intended to celebrate the great show he's a part of. He has a Bachelors degree in Theatre from Texas A&M-Commerce, and most recently portrayed Reverend Tooker in Cat On A Hot Tin Roof with The Stolen Shakespeare Guild. Some of his favorite roles include Skip Hampton in Lu Ann Hampton Laverty Oberlander, Lord Capulet in Romeo & Juliet, Grandpa Sycamore in You Can't Take It With You, and Mr. Fleet in The Great Cross Country Race. He would like to thank Rick for the opportunity to work with him and believing in his talents; his family and friends for their ever-present love and support; and above all God, for allowing him to give his heart to the audience, his body to the stage, and to live his life with grace. Andrew Langston (John Smythe) is a graduate of the University of New Mexico, where he studied creative writing and psychology. He began acting in 2010, during his second year as an English student under the instruction of Paul Ford. During his college career, he appeared in many works-in-progress as well as student-directed and written works. Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Jersey Lily is the first of what he hopes will be a long line of professional performances. Mrs. Sidney Padgett (Mrs. Padgett) was born in the town of Dorking, located west of Yorkshire. Arriving in America at age 12, she received her theatrical training at AMDA in New York. This production marks her return to the stage after a long absence tending house in Waxahachie. Special thanks to husband Sid. Enjoy!

Patte Tasalad (Abdul Karim) was raised in Hoboken, New Jersey, where he studied acting from the young age of seven. First picked to play one of the Lost Boys in an elementary school production of Peter Pan, Patte found a love for the theatre. He now lives in Dallas with his four brothers, where he works part-time as a headhunter for CBS. Derek Behrens (Sound/Light Board Operator) received his audio engineering certification from Collin College and has been writing, recording and producing his original music for over six years. He also has done audio work for local bands and businesses, including writing and producing music and editing recorded speeches. He currently works as a tracking engineer for Antic Productions and does video editing for a dental transitioning company. He may be contacted at [email protected]. Suzi Cranford (Costume Designer) is happy to be working with Rover Dramawerks again, having last designed the costumes for Wonder of the World. Her designs were also previously seen in Shakespeare in Hollywood, Around the World in 80 Days, Epic Proportions, Everything in the Garden, Murder at the Orient Burlesque and Written in Time. Cranford is associate designer at Dallas Costume Shoppe. Andrew Duckworth (Sound Designer) is an award-winning sound designer and music technology instructor at Collin College. He is also "The In-Studio Jam" live engineer for The Tom Joyner Morning Show, working with A-List R&B and Soul artists. Andrew is also partner/owner of North Texas Production Group, Inc., a full production entertainment company. He completed his degree in 2000, earning a BA in Technical Theatre at the University of Nevada at Las Vegas. In 1997 and 1998, Andy received national acclaim as one of the top five sound designers in the nation. Among his awards are Outstanding Sound Design for As Is, Still Life, and Stand-Up Tragedy, a 1996 Kennedy Center National Award winner. Terrie Justus (Properties Designer) has worked with Rover since 2002, as a performer, properties designer, producer, and Board member. Her favorite performance was in the title role of Veronica’s Room. She has designed props for numerous productions at Rover, including this year’s productions of Out of Sterno, WRENS, and Sherlock Holmes and the Jersey Lily. She finds that being on the Board of Directors is her most challenging role. Terrie also works at other theaters in the area, having designed props for Pocket Sandwich Theatre’s productions of Drac in the Saddle, Journey to the Center of the Earth, Relatively Speaking, and Herbbits, Wizards & Borks, Oh My!, as well as Mesquite Community Theatre’s Dearly Departed…all this year! Ashley Morris-Johnson (Assistant Director/Stage Manager) is enjoying her first behind-the-scenes adventure with Rover, having previously served as a member of the Board of Directors. After a decades-long hiatus to raise four children, she attributes her lifelong passion for theatre to the early influence of the late Father Anthony Zoghby and all of the mentors at the South Baldwin Community Theatre in Gulf Shores, Alabama. With a heart for non-profits, Ashley is also proud to be a member of the Plano Metro Rotary Club. Jack Piland (Lighting Designer) returns for his fourth production with Rover Dramawerks, as he previously designed the lights for Same Time, Next Year and These Two Couples Went to Italy... and appeared onstage as David Williams in Who Was That Lady I Saw You With? He also recently did the lighting design for the remount of Silver Screen Slayer, currently running at the Pocket Sandwich Theatre. He thanks the powers that be for giving him the ability to light the stage once more.

Jordan Sanchez (Backstage Crew) is excited to be working crew for Rover Dramawerks. She recently moved back to Texas after receiving her BFA in Theatre Directing from The American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City. She directed over 4 professional shows while in New York City, and has loved theatre since she was a pirate in Treasure Island at age 6. Being a part of every aspect of theatre is a joy and blessing to her. She hopes you enjoy the show and do wave at the fellow techies! Joseph L. Taylor II (Fight Choreographer) would like to thank you, the most important piece to this show, for blessing us with your patronage at Rover Dramawerks. “A personal thanks to Darise Error who gave me the opportunity to try fight choreography, Rhonda Durant for taking me under her wing, and Carol Rice for another opportunity to fight plan for an excellent show with a wonderful cast and crew.” A special thanks to his girlfriend, Cindy Few, for all her love and support. Enjoy the show. Roxi Taylor (Wigs, Hair and Make-Up Designer) is excited to be doing her third show at Rover, designing hair and makeup! The previous shows were Same Time Next Year and WRENS. Roxi has done children's theater and other theatrical productions all over the DFW area, both on stage and backstage. She graduated from Paul Mitchell The School, with a degree in cosmetology. By day, she works as a hair and makeup artist in Dallas. Dave Tenney (Set Designer/Master Carpenter) is pleased to be working with Rover again, having previously designed sets for Private Lives and Morphic Resonance. Dave recently folded his own small scenic design and construction company into Lighting-Guy Enterprises (the company formerly known as Samarco) and is currently the rental/sales/scenic department manager. Over the last several years, first with his own company, and now with LGE, Dave has designed and/or constructed sets for hundreds of plays, films, television shows, and special events throughout the Metroplex. When he’s not busy making sawdust, Dave also works as a freelance television engineer for Time Warner Cable Sportschannel, ESPN, ABC Sports, and others. In his off hours, Dave enjoys creating original works of art, reading good books, cooking, and hopes one day to finish getting his private pilot’s license. Rick Tuman (Director) takes his second turn at directing for Rover, the first being Rabbit Hole. An area actor, director, educator, UIL adjudicator, and Rover Board member, Rick earned an MFA in Drama from Syracuse University. He is appreciative of Ashley (AD/SM of this production) for saying yes to the “gig.” To the cast, crew and designers…he thanks them for their trust, ingenuity and perseverance as we accelerated from zero to 100 in a short time: “I am supremely contented and eternally entranced.” Lastly, and as always, Rick thanks his wife Nichelle for her patience as he spends time with his other love, theatre, (a most-demanding mistress)…thank you for your unconditional love. Yvonne Vautier-DeLay (Diction/Dialect Coach) has provided diction and dialect coaching for more than 30 North Texas area productions, ranging from Shakespeare to Neil Simon, as well as three summer programs of elocution for children. She has worked with McKinney Repertory Theatre, Pocket Sandwich Theatre, Rover Dramawerks, and Theatre Britain, as well as a four-hour workshop for the Artisan Theatre’s production of Emma. Yvonne offers private tutoring and audition preparation, with special emphasis on vocal projection and precision in learning various English dialects.

From the Playwright (Artistic Director’s note: we attempted to bring Ms. Forgette to Plano to join us for a couple of performances, but her schedule was prohibitive so we instead asked her for a few notes about the play to share with our patrons. Enjoy!) In response to the question, How did you come to write this play? Seven or eight years ago, a colleague and Artistic Director said to me, Hey, Katie, I'm thinking of starting a Family Series - why don't you write me a Sherlock Holmes play? I went home and said to my husband, Want to write a Sherlock play together? He said, Sure. So, we sat down to discuss the plot possibilities and 10 minutes later…we broke up. As co-writers, that is. (I’m pretty sure the marriage is still intact.) I ended up writing the play on my own. Fast forward 4 months. I run into my friend the Artistic Director and say, I just finished my Sherlock Holmes play, to which the AD responds, Good for you! Whatever made you decide to write a Sherlock Holmes play...? After I burst out laughing - I think I may have actually snorted - there was a long pause as the horrifying truth dawned on me: he’d forgotten all about his request. I attempted to gently jog his memory by asking about his soon-to-be-started Family Series. He thought for a moment and then said, Oh, yeah, the Family Series...I decided we're not doing that. I'd always loved Sherlock and the whole milieu that Conan Doyle created. But there were an awful lot of adaptations/pastiches/parodies floating around. It occurred to me that it might be fun to have real historical figures call upon one of the most famous fictional detectives. One of my favorite acting roles was Gwendolyn in Earnest (with an unknown Debra Messing playing Cecily). I'd also long been fascinated by Lily Langtry's extraordinary life - I loved that she was the first woman to break the bank at Monte Carlo. And apparently, when she walked into a room, otherwise intelligent men fell to their knees and began speaking gibberish. When I discovered Wilde and Langtry were friends, well... I had enormous fun re-reading Wilde and Conan Doyle - as well as trying to meet the challenges I had set up for myself. First I wanted to fashion a story that was not a parody or a send-up, but an honest-to-God mystery-comedy, with real stakes and real danger. It was also important that Oscar’s intelligence be equal to, but slightly different from, Sherlock’s. Foremost in my mind, and the most daunting aspect of the project, was the goal I set of creating two female characters who were strong, occasionally ill-intentioned, and “of a certain age.” I knew the women had to be true to their time, but I didn’t want to create helpless 19th century maidens. I wanted them to have a hand in driving the story, even if it meant that that hand occasionally got dirty.

Announcing...Rover’s 15th Season!

The Fourth Wall, by A. R. Gurney, directed by Andi Allen October 23 - November 15, 2014 Peggy, a simple upper-class housewife, has a strange obsession with a blank wall in her house, as she has redecorated the living room to resemble a stage set with everything facing this blank “fourth wall.” As

each character enters the room, they, too, begin to behave as if they are acting in a play, or even a musical, when they occasionally burst into song. Cleverly tackling contemporary topics while illuminating the nature of theater and its current state in America, this is a drawing room comedy by one of the most prolific and produced playwrights in America, with the wit of Noel Coward and the songs of Cole Porter.

The Cupcake Conspiracy, C.J. Ehrlich & Philip J. Kaplan, directed by Carol M. Rice January 8-31, 2015 Max is a timid nebbish who sneaks out on a blind date behind his soon-to-be ex wife’s back and due to a case of mistaken identity at the top of the Empire State Building, he finds himself up to his neck in a

terrorist plot involving cupcakes. Really evil cupcakes. His date with the sultry Natasha could be the most exciting night of his life – if he can just foil her plot and, more importantly, keep his wife from finding out! World Premiere! Winner of Rover Dramawerks’ New Play Contest.

Other People’s Money, by Jerry Sterner, directed by Paul McKenzie February 19 - March 14, 2015 Wall Street takeover artist Lawrence Garfinkle's computer is going tilt over the undervalued stock of New England Wire & Cable. If the stockholders back his takeover, they will make a bundle but what will

happen to the 1200 employees and the community when he liquidates the assets? Opposing the rapacious financier are the genial man who has run the company since year one and a young lawyer who specializes in fending off takeovers. This compelling drama explores whether corporate raiders are creatures from the Black Lagoon of capitalism or realists. Winner: Outer Critics Circle Award for Best Off Broadway Play.

18 Holes, by Gene Kato, directed by Lindsey Humphries April 23 - May 16, 2015 Four our sets of golfers make their way around the eighteen greens of the Brazoria Bend golf course in Southeast Texas. A father who must tell his young son that his wife is leaving him, a golden years couple

constantly bickering over the winning power of a pink golf ball, two slackers in hot pursuit of the beer girl, and a collection of ladies from the Sunset Society (an organization of women who wear orange hats). Guided through the evening by Lyle, the course greenskeeper, and filled with both comedy and drama, this is a true slice of life that everyone can relate to. Winner: 2007 Rocky Mountain Theatre Association Best Play Award.

Suite Surrender, by Michael McKeever, directed by Carol M. Rice June 4-27, 2015 It's 1942, and two of Hollywood's biggest divas have descended upon the luxurious Palm Beach Royale Hotel with assistants, luggage…and legendary feud in tow. Even with members of the Navy diving out of

the fourth floor windows into the swimming pool and running maneuvers in the lobby, everything seems to be in order for their wartime benefit performance. That is, until they are somehow assigned to the same suite. Mistaken identities, overblown egos, double entendres, and a lap dog named Mr. Boodles round out this riotous love note to the classic farces of the 30s and 40s.

Come Blow Your Horn, by Neil Simon, directed by Misty Baptiste July 16 - August 8, 2015 Twenty-one year old Buddy Baker has left home and arrives unannounced at the luxurious Manhattan apartment of his older brother, Alan, a swinging, womanizing bachelor who prefers his

carefree life to working in the family business. Alan is only too happy to mentor his brother in the ways of the world, but as Buddy turns into a ladies’ man himself, Alan discovers real feelings for one of the many women with whom he is currently seeing and has to rethink his life choices to keep her. This farcical 60s romp was Neil Simon’s first Broadway comedy hit!

Cactus Flower, by Abe Burrows, directed by Mark-Brian Sonna Sept. 10 - October 3, 2015 Julian, a philandering dentist, keeps his many affairs at bay by claiming to be married with children. When he falls for his girlfriend Toni and proposes, she wants to make sure his

marriage is really over and Julian must produce a “wife.” He recruits his prickly nurse Stephanie to pose as his wife, with hilarious results. This Broadway hit later became a successful film starring Walter Matthau, Ingrid Bergman, and Goldie Hawn, winning her the Best Supporting Actress Oscar.
