It is also celebrated to worship Goddess Saraswati, the symbol of Knowledge and wisdom. Basant Pancmi Festival was celebrated at DCHSS, Raipur on 1 st February 2017 with full of zeal and enthusiasm. A special assembly was held on this day. It started with the children‟s singing the „Saraswati Vandana.‟and Goddess Saraswati was worshipped by the Principal Sir , Teachers and all the students to remove the ignorance and enlighten the path of wisdom. . My Dear Friends, Special Assembly is a way to promote value based education. They powerfully nurture the development of intra personal intelligence. CLASSES 1 to 5 th took turns to present the cultural heritage of various states under the theme “Unity in Diversity”. The aura and beauty of different states like Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh were portrayed. Prize distribution ceremony was also held for all the co-scholastic activities done throughout the year. I was esteemed with the golden opportunity to bring forward the talents of students through these special assemblies. Graduation day was another extra ordinary event of the Pre- PRIMARY where the tiny tots were felicitated with the certificates to progress ahead without reprieving their past glory. Form Assembly on Culture of

Southern State (Class IV)

The ethnic and cultural beauty of Southern States of India was depicted by class IV students. The students dressed in colourful sarees with accessories, started with EESH Vandana followed by explaining the details of Andhra Pradesh be it their harvesting festival, their dance forms and their culture. The prizes were distributed and parents were overwhelmed by the wonderful performance.

Form Assembly on Culture of Rajasthan (Class III)

The third day students of class –III depicted the Largest State by Area, Rajasthan. Rajasthan is known as the “Land of Kings”. Students dressed as Rajasthani men and women presented their colorful traditions, their folk dances and the life of desert dwellers. Emphasizing on the ancient and most loved puppet dance, children gracefully acted as puppets on the chain. A glimpse of the aura and chivalry of the state was beautifully crafted by the students.

Form Assembly on Culture of Punjab (Class II)

The most talked about and the happening culture the Punjabi culture was depicted by students of class- II. The essence of “Make di Roti & Sarson da Saag” instantly reminds us of the northern state, Punjab. Girls of class- II with their parandas and boys with turbans left the audience speechless. A skit on their harvest festival lohri was presented along with their famous dance forms of Bhangra and Giddha.

Form Assembly on Culture of Chhattisgarh (Class I)

Last but not the least student of class – I dressed as the tribal‟s of Chhattisgarh outsmarted their seniors. They spoke fluently local dialect of Chhattisgarh in a hilarious skit. Their famous SUA Dance presented by the girls dressed as typical tribals with their cotton short sarees and ornaments was worth appreciable. In a nut shell the complete picture of the state was depicted.

International Karate Championship was

Approved by Karate Association of India and Recognized by Ministry Of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India and International Olympic Committee. Dishaites excelled and got prizes in International Karate Championship on 3rd, 4th, & 5th Feb 2017 at Vishakhapatnam. In which Pushkar Soni class 5th secured 3rd position and got Bronze Medal under Sub Junior category of age 10 years and Poorv Chouksey of class 8th got Bronze Medal under Junior category of age 13 years.

Little chef’s Learn to make “Biscuit Toppings”

The most relished biscuits by children were made even tastier and tangy by an interesting activity by the pre-primary kids on 7th Feb, 2017. Evening snack which was healthy at the same time delicious. Students decorated the very common biscuits with different toppings like cheese, cucumber, chocolate which enhanced the overall presentation.

STATE LEVEL ESSAY COMPETITION

State Level Essay Competition on “EFFECTS OF INTERNET ON YOUTH “ , organized by „CREATIVE MIND SOCIETY‟. . Various schools along with DCHSS, Raipur took participation with full of zeal and enthusiasm. Ms. Sakshi Soni of Class 12th (PCM) secured Third Position and stands to be honored by a „Certificate of Excellence‟ and Cash Prize of Rs. 500/-. Prize was given by Dr. B.K.Sthapak , Vice Chancler of O.P. Jindal University , Raigarh on 11th February 2017 at Columbia Institute of Technology, Raipur . Motivational Speech was given by Dr. Ajit Warvandkar.

Keeping in mind the aim, to provide informative and accessible resources to the parents and the student community, Kids & Students Carnival provides a platform to choose the best suited institution for school education. Workshop on Unpacking school

Performance Mr. Dilip Kumar ,Principal of DCHSS ,Mr. Praveen Jatta of Science Dept, Mr. Shabbar Haidari HOD Commerce dept. and Mrs. Jhuma Bhattacharya HOD of English dept went for a two days‟ workshop held on the 18 and 19 of February, 2017, at Raipur, conducted by Abhyudaya Sahodaya in association with Quality Education Asia on the topic Unpacking School Performance. The workshop was at Hotel Babylon Inn from 10 am to 5pm. MISS KAT THORNE Head of Learning & Educational Development, The Commonwealth Education Trust, London, United Kingdom explained the importance of Leadership & Management-Building an Efficient Team & Integrating technology to enhance efficiency. Mr. Nitin Goyal, Co-founder iPause Consultants Life & Leadership Coach Member of ICF and EMCC took a session on Growing Middle Leadership- Coaching & Mentoring. Mrs. Kalpana Chaudhury Instructional Mentor & Director, N H Goel World School took a session on Instructional Leadership .Which was followed by Ms. Rupam Sah Lead Learner & CEO Quality Education Asia.She explored Innovative Pedagogy. Mrs.L.JAIN Director Mahavir Senior Model School took a session on Financial Planning & Legal Matters. Mr. Ashutosh Tripathi Director, Krishna Public School, Raipur, took a session on School improvement Plan & Home-School Partnerships. The workshop was coined to overcome the flaw which are generally ignored during Leadership participation.

An Inter School Speech competition was held at Ramakrishna Mission Raipur (C.G) on 13th jan2017. The Topic was –Sister Nibedita‟s contribution towards India‟s National movement. Master Nikhilesh Agarwal of class IX got the First prize and an amount of Rs. Rs1500/- .Miss Himani Baid got the third prize and amount of Rs. 800.

Workshop on integrating technology in Education by Ms. Kat Throne (U.K. London) was conducted on 20-2-17 in Krishna public School Dunda, Raipur CG. Dr. Aijaz Khan, Mr. Sankeertan Sahu & Mrs. Neha Nathwani attended the workshop. Ms. Kat made all the faculties from different Schools aware of the advantages of technology in education she also taught about an app Called Kahoot which was really fruitful.

Graduation Ceremony(PP-II) DISHA SCHOOL Pre-primary wing has organized a Graduation Ceremony on 28th Feb, 2017 for the kids of PP-II, it was a combination of different flavors of programmes, started with Ganesh Vandana, followed by speech, mesmerizing Dance performances on various songs as “Selfie Le Le Re, Vaka Vaka, Holiya Me Uda Re Gulaaletc.under the able guidance and supervision of Head Mistress Mrs.Mamta Singh. It is one of the most important moments in a student's life as it marks a transition from one stage to another. The major part of the ceremony was Felicitation of students by degree in their graduation gown and our Dr. Anil Tiwari Sir. (Secretary – Disha Education Society) honored them with the degree and whole programme was witnessed by Principal Sri. Dilip Kumar, Vice-Principal Dr.Shailesh Sharma and overwhelming performance was applauded by the parents who came to witness the function.
