BUTTERFLIES AND PATCHWORK WELCOME to our 2017 Quilter’s Quest Block of the Month! This year we are doing it a little bit differently. You will receive all clues and directions for completion BEFORE QQ 2017 begins. The blocks used are all 9” squares. This project can be completed as a lap quilt, table runner, bed runner, or wall hanging. You could use the blocks individually and turn them into a tote, pillows, placemats, etc. Quilter’s Quest chose to use black and white for our sample and added ten solid colors as accents, but your blocks could certainly be created in any color way. FABRIC NEEDED TO COMPLETE AS LAP QUILT: • 2½ yards of white or background fabric • ¼ yard each of 5 different "Medium Greys" (equal amounts of black & white) • ¼ yard each of 5 different "Blacks" (mostly black with very little white) • ¼ yard each of 5 different “Whites” (mostly white with very little black) • 1 WOF x 3⅛" strips (or 3⅛" squares) of each color, 10 colors total • ¼ yard of a coordinating fabric for the binding The following directions use traditional rotary cutting and as well as the AccuQuilt GO! or AccuQuilt GO BIG! Machines, and the GO! Qube Mix & Match 9” Block and GO! Qube 9” Block Companion Set Classics. Again, you may follow our color pallet or your own. BLOCK 5 - Sculpture From the “White” fabric cut: (2) 2¾” squares (1) 3⅛" square and then subcut diagonally into (2) half square triangles (HST) (Reference for all HST diagonal cuts) BLOCK 10 - Sculpture From the “White” fabric cut: (2) 2¾” squares (1) 3⅛" square and then subcut diagonally into (2) half square triangles (HST) (Reference for all HST diagonal cuts)

BUTTERFLIES AND PATCHWORK

WELCOME to our 2017 Quilter’s Quest Block of the Month! This year we are doing it a little bit

differently. You will receive all clues and directions for completion BEFORE QQ 2017 begins.

The blocks used are all 9” squares. This project can be completed as a lap quilt, table runner, bed

runner, or wall hanging. You could use the blocks individually and turn them into a tote, pillows,

placemats, etc. Quilter’s Quest chose to use black and white for our sample and added ten solid colors

as accents, but your blocks could certainly be created in any color way.

FABRIC NEEDED TO COMPLETE AS LAP QUILT:

• ¼ yard each of 5 different "Medium Greys" (equal amounts of black & white)

• ¼ yard each of 5 different "Blacks" (mostly black with very little white)

• ¼ yard each of 5 different “Whites” (mostly white with very little black)

• 1 WOF x 3⅛" strips (or 3⅛" squares) of each color, 10 colors total

• ¼ yard of a coordinating fabric for the binding

The following directions use traditional rotary cutting and as well as the AccuQuilt GO! or AccuQuilt

GO BIG! Machines, and the GO! Qube Mix & Match 9” Block and GO! Qube 9” Block Companion Set

Classics. Again, you may follow our color pallet or your own.
