About Delicious
• Delicious is a social bookmarking site where users can – Store Bookmarks– Share Bookmarks– Organize Bookmarks – Manage bookmarks
• A research conducted in April 2009 shows that Delicious have more than 5.3 million users and 150 million bookmarked URLs
• Delicious was founded in 2003 and acquired in 2005 by Yahoo!

• Users can – tag bookmarks with keywords– view other users public bookmarks– keep private bookmarks– search for tagged bookmarks– see most-bookmarked sites– share bookmarks with other users

What are Tags?
• one-word descriptors used to describe a bookmark
• can be renamed or deleted any time
• you can use as many tags as you like
• make easier to search for the information later

Tag Hints
• Tag should be of one word, as space bar identifies another tag in Delicious
• Do not use comma
• Use underscore ( _ ) to combine words
For example – video_game, real_estate, cellphones

Sign in to your Delicious account

Click on “Save a new bookmark” link, which is located on the right side

How to keep bookmarks private
• By default, your bookmarks are visible to everyone
• To make it private -– Check “Do Not Share” before saving, when you
are bookmarking the site or the page

• Step 1
Search for a topic by entering keyword(s) in the search box in the top right hand corner

• Submit carefully– Use relevant tags and add notes, as it will help

• Use popular tags– Use tag cloud feature to find popular tags

– Create a resource that Delicious users are likely to bookmark
• Use “Add to Del.icio.us” link
– Make sure to use “Add to Del.icio.us” link at the end of your blog post, articles etc. as it will increase the chances of your post being bookmarked

• Submit on sites like Digg, Mixx etc.
