Mr. Rolan CastroABC Fashion CompanyMorayta, Manila

Dear Mr. Castro:

I am sorry, but the coat I purchased of you on February 3 for P 1,568.00 is not giving the service I feel a coat of this quality and price should give.

In the two months I have had it, I have not given the coat severe or unusual wear, but already the nap is wearing away above the cuffs and pockets. Also, the lining has given way at the armholes.

If I were in Manila, I would be glad to bring the coat in for your inspection. That being impossible, I am sending it to your under another cover. When you see it, I believe you will feel as I do – that the cost is not up to your standard.

As I like this model and feel that this coat has been an exception, I would be interested in securing another one, provided you are able to make me a sufficiently attractive allowance.

Your truly,

Mrs. Erica Topaz

Ann J. BuechlerAssistant Vice President and Trust OfficerU.S. BankTrust Group1414 Fourth AvenueP.O. Box 720Seattle, WA 98111

Dear Mrs. Buechler:I am writing to request consideration for the Parrett Scholarship offered by The Parrett Scholarship Foundation. I believe I meet all of the qualifications as specified by the foundation.

I am presently a first-year student at Brown Medical School in Providence, Rhode Island. I graduated from Amherst College in 2005 with a bachelor of arts degree cum laude in Biochemistry. My career goal at this point is to be a primary care physician in a community-based hospital similar to the one where I volunteered during my college years. I hope to serve a multicultural patient population and specifically provide preventive care to adolescents and women. Since enrolling at Brown, I have participated in the Adolescent Health Education Project in which groups of medical students visit local high schools and community centers once a week to discuss health issues with teenagers. Our topics include AIDS, alcohol and drugs, sexuality, teen pregnancy, relationships and peer pressure.

Medical school at Brown brings with it an average annual cost of $55,730. While I am receiving some scholarship assistance, I am also borrowing from several student loan programs in order to cover my tuition and living expenses. Without additional scholarship assistance, my financial aid officer and I estimate that my educational debt at graduation will reach approximately $xxx (see attached debt profile). My parents are nearing retirement and will soon be living on a fixed income. They earn approximately $xxx per year and thus are able to provide only minimal support to my brother (who is in his second year of law school) and me. I am concerned that my mounting educational debt will preclude me from considering lower-paying primary care specialties such as family practice and pediatrics.

I would be happy to provide any additional information (e.g., transcripts, letters of recommendation, tax returns, etc.) that your committee would like to review. I am also available

for an interview at your convenience. If you require an application form, I would appreciate it if you would send one to me at the address listed above. Thank you in advance for your consideration. I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Dear Mr. Rich:

This is in response to your letter of February 7, 2009, regarding the optimum penstockdiameter for the Trout Lake hydropower facility. I have reviewed the proposed layout, anddetermined the head losses and cost of various intake-penstock system alternatives. My calculations on the intake-penstock system, assuming a 150 cfs total design discharge, 85 percent plant efficiency, and $4000/kW value of power, indicate that a 130ft. diameter penstock above the bifurcation, and a 85ft. diameter for the penstocks below the bifurcation would be the most cost effective. My estimated construction cost for the intake penstock system included the costs $13582.00, $20000.00, and $30000.00 .The total estimated construction cost is $63582.00. The head losses of this system up to the powerhouse are estimated to be 200ft. at the 150 cfs design discharge for each turbine. I have attached my calculations and tables for your review. Please call if you have any questions or require further information.

Recommendation Letter

32 Bay State RoadBoston, MA 02215-1903

To whom it may concern:

I would like to take an opportunity to offer a formal recommendation for Jane Glass. As the Senior Coordinator for Heartland Commerce I have known Jane for approximately two years and feel that she is a deserving candidate for your business school program.

Jane joined our organization as an entry-level customer service representative. Demonstrating an incredible initiative and a strong dedication, she moved up the ranks quickly. After only six months, she was promoted to team leader. The board could not help but notice how successful she was in her new position and quickly offered her another promotion, making her part of the executive management team.

Jane leads by example and many people here find her enthusiasm and dedication both inspiring and motivating. As part of the executive management team, Jane has worked hard to build authentic relationships with the employees. Her efforts have created a happier and more productive team.

I believe Jane exhibits many of the qualities that are essential to business managers and business students. An education at your esteemed business school will help her hone these qualities, while enhancing her career opportunities. I highly recommend Jane Glass for your program and hope that you will carefully consider admission application.

Sincerely,

Dear Mr./Ms. Last Name, I have known grace for over 3 years, while she was working as a executive manager in Albert & Allen Company in many various capacities. Grace reported directly to me as I was holding a role of senior manager, Marketing Division between 2004 and 2006.During her tenure, Grace has shown a tremendous potential by spearheading an extensive number of brand building programs and initiatives for the company. As a result of her consistent fresh ideas and high enthusiasm, Company attained outstanding financial results for the 2005 and 2006 financial years, with more than 30% increase of revenues achieved. She is a very customer oriented person, and has a very high aptitude for sales-related roles also. Her willingness to explore different job specializations in the company won many admirations in company's favour. To my own observation, Grace is a trustworthy and reliable person who goes great length to accomplish any task given to her. She works well both as an individual and as a team player. She never hesitates to take the extra roles which are beyond her own job scopes. I wish Grace all the success in life and recommend her for employment, with your organization without any hesitation.

Termination Letter

February 17, 2009Thomas Zatinski795 Gilmour St.Apt. 508Chicago, IL, 60611

Dear Thomas:

It is with sincere regret that I must inform you that your employment at Addison Systems Inc. will be terminated as of Friday January 31, 2006.

As you know, the Downsizing Task Force delivered their report to the general manager in late October, 2006. Among the task force recommendations was the elimination of all temporary and contract positions. Since you occupy a temporary position, your position is automatically subject to the task force recommendations.

I would like to make it absolutely clear that in no way does your termination reflect that the company is in any way unhappy with your work performance over the past 18 months. In fact, you have been highly regarded as one of our most productive contract staffers. Unfortunately, you and the other non-permanent staff that are being let go are simply a reflection of the general economic downturn in the fiber-optics industry over the past year.

In an effort to try to reduce the impact of this termination, the company has worked out a severance arrangement that will give you one week's pay for each month you worked beyond 12 months. In your case this will amount to six (6) weeks of severance pay. In addition, your medical and dental coverage will remain in effect until the end of the severance period. You will soon receive a letter from the Human Resources Department with all of the details on the severance package.

Thomas, given your qualifications and proven abilities, I am confident that you will be able to find another position in the relatively near future. If you would like, I would be pleased to write a recommendation letter for you, to help with your job search.

Sincerely,

Fred ShandlingUnit Manager

Condolence Letter

November 30, 2007

Mr. Jim HollingsworthPresident and CEOPenn Manufacturing Inc.1260 North Washington AvenueScranton, Pennsylvania 18503

Dear Jim:

Please accept my sincere condolences for the sudden loss of your dear brother Ray last week. I can only imagine what a shock it must be to you and the PMI extended family. Indeed, it was only two weeks ago that Ray and I shared a table at the Mayor's annual fundraiser.

I know what a difficult loss this will be for you in particular. Not only will you miss your cherished brother but also a trusted business partner and advisor. I can only imagine the depth of the void that it will leave in your personal, family, and business lives.

As you know, Ray and I go back more than 20 years both as friends and business associates. Not only was he a great person to do business with, he was also an excellent golfing partner with whom I spent many memorable days on the links over the years. He had an amazing sense of humour and was a gifted storyteller. In business dealings Ray was always straightforward and as honest as the day is long. In short, your brother Ray was an exceptional friend, colleague and customer who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Would you please pass on my sincere condolences to all of the employees at Penn Manufacturing and let them know that we here at Allied Building Systems collectively mourn Ray's loss.

Sincere condolences,Brad Fender

Appreciation Letter

November 30, 2006Mr. David KimberlyDirector General, Civil AviationGovernment of Seychelles10 Island View ParkwaySeychelles

Dear Mr. Kimberly:

I would like to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt thanks to you for your very active participation in our recent conference in Montreal on the "future of aviation". The Chairman and Board Members have also asked me to pass on their sincere appreciation for your efforts in supporting the Institute in this important undertaking.

Your skill in chairing the controversial panel on "The Role of Developing Countries in the Future of Aviation Management" was very much appreciated by those representing all sides of that extremely sensitive topic. As well, we have received numerous post-conference requests for the paper you delivered on "The Critical Issue of Cooperation between Airlines and Airports." It appears that you may have penned a best-seller with that one!

On both a professional and a personal level, I really appreciated the time that the two of us were able to spend together for fun and reflection during conference down times. I certainly learned a lot about the unique aspects of aviation operations in your part of the world (not to mention the things you taught me about the backhand on the squash court!).

We are currently hard at work producing the "Compendium of Conference Proceedings" document, and we expect to be sending it out to all participants early in the new year.

Again, thanks so much for your enthusiastic participation in our conference. I have no doubt that it would not have been the success that it was without your presence.

Please keep in touch, and drop in and visit us whenever you are in this part of the world.

Very sincerely,

Notification Letter

Dear Mr. WhiteOrani Bookstore MarketingOrani, Bataan

We are pleased to announce that on August 26, 2005, Governor Romney signed legislation, Chapter 77 of the Acts of 2005, which amended Chapter 137 of the Acts of 2003 that provided compensation and other benefits to employees of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts who have been called into active military service since September 11, 2001. This new legislation takes effect immediately and expires on September 11, 2008. Employees will be paid the difference between their base state pay and base military compensation (excluding allowances), if the base state pay is higher. The amended legislation may mean that you are entitled to additional differential pay (either on an ongoing or retroactive basis) because the definition of base military pay now excludes allowances.

The differential to which you may be entitled is calculated using your base state pay and does not include any additional compensation, such as overtime, shift differential, hazardous duty, educational incentives or call back pay. The military compensation to be used for this calculation is defined as base pay excluding all allowances, such as housing, uniform, combat pay, spousal allowance, etc. as well as overtime pay, shift differential pay, hazardous duty pay or any other additional compensation received for military service.

Information regarding military pay is available using the following link: https://mypay.dfas.mil/mypay.aspx

When you have the required documentation, send or fax it to your department:

Notify the Payroll Director of your department if you wish to change, for the purpose of direct deposit, the bank account on file with your agency.

We urge you to submit the documentation necessary to process your pay differential at your earliest convenience. The sooner that we receive it, the sooner we can process the pay benefits to which you are entitled.

We are proud to be part of this effort that recognizes your dedication and commitment to serve your country, and we are pleased that we can take these measures to ease the considerable sacrifices that you and your family have had to endure.

Sincerely,Ivan M. Poor

RE: READ TO SUCCEED! PROJECT Dear Ms. Atwater,

Orchard Middle School is pleased to present this proposal for your review. We look forward to partnering with you to provide a reading intervention program for our students with poor reading skills called Read to Succeed! Orchard Middle School has over 50 at risk students with a reading performance of at least two years behind their current grade level. The objective of the Read to Succeed! program is to help all students with poor reading skills learn to read at grade level and increase their reading speed, comprehension, and reading attention span.

During the last year, we have been piloting the Read to Succeed! program with a small group of students with poor reading skills and have seen dramatic improvements with most of the students increasing their reading ability by one to two grade levels. The Read to Succeed! program provides students with access to assistive reading systems, along with training for classroom teachers and reading specialists.

We have seen measurable success and we are now seeking to expand our Read to Succeed! program to address the needs of all the at risk students in the Orchard Middle School. Our proposal requests $16,504 in funding to obtain the software, hardware, and training necessary to equip the Orchard Middle School resource room with five assistive reading systems, each including a computer, scanner and assistive reading software.

We appreciate ABC Foundation taking an interest in helping our students develop their reading skills through our new reading program! Please give me a call at 703-555-1212 x342 if you require any further information or have any questions concerning this proposal.

Your check in the amount of $1000 secures your reservation for you.
