THE CONCEPTThe arts centre has been designed to be
unlike any other in the region. It plays homage to the creativity and talents
of the artists whose work it showcases whilealso promoting Bunbury as a place of
culture and diverstity.
Inspiration for this project came from thesea in the form of sails and boats drawing
a random pattern over the horizon, captured and transformed into a simple,
modular, structural element, a ‘sail’,which extrudes and is
scattered across the site.
It accommodates the vision of the arts aentreand evokes an analogy of the sailboat often seen out
at sea from the Bunbury coast.
Designed to be a modular structure it can alsoexpand and adapt should additional space
be required for future activities and programs.
