HOLY YEAR OF MERCY

We sing our Alleluias today, for Jesus is risen. Our souls proclaim the greatness of God, Our spirits rejoice in our Risen Savior. May your song be sung in our lives At every moment of this day so that God’s power, Which can do far more than we can ask or imagine, May continue to call life from death and light from darkness, Transforming our meager efforts Into your Son’s victory over death.

~ Amen.

Dear Blessed Mother Mary,

The Rosary is prayed in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament Mass, Tuesday to Saturday before Mass.

Holy Water The ancient and venerable custom of taking Holy Easter water is encouraged and urged. Please remove any Holy Water more than a year old by pouring it into a plant or preferably the earth (not into the sink drain). You are invited to bring a small container to take the new Holy Easter water to your home for use in sickness, danger, temptation or sorrow.

Thank you to all who donated to the Flower Fund for Easter Flowers. Your intentions are remembered especially at every Mass in the Easter season. We are most grateful for the generosity of all. Please see the list of donors and intentions book in the church vestibule.

An Easter Message from Archbishop O’Brien During the Easter season, it is customary in some cultures to greet people not by saying “hello” or offering some similar salutation, but with the words, “Christ is Risen” – to which one replies, “He is Risen indeed”. By using the present tense of the verb, we affirm our belief in the enduring presence of the Risen Christ among us today The Resurrection is for us the sign that evil and suffering, though present in our world, do not have the power to defeat us. This confidence that comes from our faith in the Risen Lord urges us to be a sign of hope for others, to be

a source of strength for those around us as we help one another to face our challenges During this Easter season, as we listen to the scriptural accounts of Mary Magdalene, and of Thomas and the disciples on the road to Emmaus, may we experience their conviction that “He is Risen indeed”. ~ A Blessed Easter to all
