Thank you for your interest in the Postgraduate Programs of BUET. Application for April 2013 Semester intake is now open. Please read through the steps and notes carefully before applying. To apply for admission, an applicant must complete the online Application Form and submit the hardcopy (automatically generated in PDF format) of the completed Application Form together with the supporting documents to the Registrar Office, BUET within the period from 16 March to 03 April, 2013 during office hours (9:00 am to 5:00 pm except on Thursdays, Fridays and any other holidays). Selection of candidates for admission into a postgraduate program is performed by respective department/ institute. The selection procedure may vary from one department to another. Candidates are advised to contact the respective department/ institute for information regarding the selection procedure.

How to ApplySubmission of Online Application FormA. Click Apply Now button to open the Application Form. B. Fill in electronically all the following necessary information Information related to BUET admission (Desired Program, Status of Studentship, etc) Your personal information (Name, Father's Name, Date of Birth, Addresses, etc) Your educational information Your experience (if any) Names and addresses of two referees. You may press the "Save" button to save your current work. A Serial No. of the Application Form will be generated automatically. This Serial No. along with your Date of Birth will be necesary to load your saved work later on. C. Upload your digital photograph, simply by locating your image file by clicking the Browse button. A recently taken passport size color photograph (approximately 300 X 350 pixel and at most 50 KB size and white background) should be uploaded (preferably in .JPG format). The photograph must be clearly visible. Wrong submission of your photograph may result in the cancellation of your application.

D. Press the Preview button. If there is any missing field or inconsistency in the application, a relevant warning message will pop up. E. Press the Back button if you want to add/edit any information and repeat item D. F. Press the Submit button to finally submit your correct application form. (You will get a message if your online application is successfully submitted. A Serial No. of the Application Form will be generated automatically. Please take note of this Serial No. of Application Form for future use. A PDF version of this application form will automatically be generated.)

The applicant must also submit the printed copy (as described in Step 2 below) of the submitted Application Form along with supporting documents and photographs within the due date. Failure to do so will result in the cancellation of the online application without further notification.

Printing the Application FormA. Download the generated PDF file (Application Form) from the website. B. Print the file (four or five pages) on one side of A4 size Offset (80 gsm) white paper. (The first three pages of this file contain the Application Form that has been filled up online, the last page is the Receipt of Application Form and the fourth page (if any) is the Letter of Consent from the employer for applicants in part-time or full-time employment.) C. Clearly write your Name in Bangla and put your signature at respective designated spaces on the printed Application Form. D. Fill also the printed Letter of Consent properly if you are in employment. (If an applicant completes and submits the online Application Form but does not download the PDF file for printing, he/she can download the PDF file later by entering the Serial No. of Application Form and his/her Date of Birth through the same website.)

Attaching All Supporting Documents and Stapling PhotographsDocuments submitted in support of your application are non-returnable. Please submit only attested and clearly legible photocopies of documents. Original documents should not be submitted. The University will not be responsible for the loss or damage of original documents submitted. The printed copy of the completed Application Form together with the following supporting documents and photographs must be submitted to the Registrar Office to complete the application procedure. 1. Two attested copies of recent passport size color photographs (applicant's name must be written on the reverse side of each photograph). These photographs must be the same photographs that have been submitted during online application. 2. Attested copies of certificates of all public examinations. 3. Attested copies of transcripts/ grade-sheets/ mark-sheets of degrees/ diplomas obtained. 4. Attested copies of testimonial/ character certificate from the institution last attended. 5. Letter of Consent, in prescribed form, from the employer for applicants in part-time or full-time employment.

Payment of Application FeeNon-refundable application fee of Tk. 400/- (Four Hundred) must be paid in cash as application fee at the time of the submission of complete application to Registrar Office, BUET. Please do not send cash payment by post. The University will not be responsible for any loss of cash payment submitted by post or any other means of transfer.

Submission of the Complete ApplicationA complete application includes the printed copy of the completed online Application Form as described in Step 2

attached with all necessary supporting documents as described in Step 3. The complete application must be submitted to Registrar Office, BUET by 03 April, 2013 during office hours (9:00 am to 5:00 pm except on Thursdays, Fridays and any other holidays). Failure to submit the same will result in cancellation of your online submission. The Registrar Office will provide Receipt of Application Form (Applicant's part) as soon as the complete application is submitted.

Please note that Failure to submit the complete application directly to Registrar Office will result in cancellation of your online submission without further notification. Application submitted by mail will NOT be accepted. Incomplete Application will result in cancellation of the same. Wrong or false information provided in the application form will lead to the cancellation of the application For any help regarding online application, please contact the Institute of Information and Communication Technology (IICT), 6th Floor, New Academic Building (West Palashi), BUET.

Important Notes to ApplicantsThe application form for Admission into Postgraduate program of BUET will only be available online. No form will be sold from this University or elsewhere. Prospectus for Admission into Postgraduate Programs is also available online. If you experience technical difficulty when applying online, please contact the Institute of Information and Communication Technology (IICT), 6th Floor, New Academic Building (West Palashi), BUET. For other questions about applying for postgraduate study at a department/ institute of BUET, please contact the respective department/ institute. The Admission Section of the Registrar Office can be contacted for any help. The Registrar Office is closed on Thursdays, Fridays and other Government holidays. Applicants in employment must apply through their employers for both part-time and full-time enrollments. Only online submission of the Application Form will not be acceptable. After submitting the Application Form online, the applicant must also submit the printed copy of the submitted Application Form along with supporting documents and photographs within the due date. Failure to do so will result in the cancellation of the online application. Applications submitted by mail will not be accepted. Incomplete and/or wrongly filled application form will be cancelled. Any information provided in the application form if proven wrong or untrue will lead to the cancellation of the application. Selection of candidates for admission into a postgraduate program is performed by respective department/ institute. The selection procedure may vary from one department to another. Candidates are advised to contact the respective department/ institute for information regarding the selection procedure. A few Teaching Assistantships/ Fellowships may be awarded to suitable full-time students. Degrees/ diplomas obtained from institutions other than BUET will be subjected to equivalence by appropriate authority of BUET before a candidate is finally selected for admission to a degree/diploma program. Course registration will start on 29/04/2013, and classes will commence on 11/05/2013. Starting date of online application is 16 March, 2013. The deadline for submission of the online application is 03/04/2013, 4:00 pm and the complete application is 03/04/2013, 5:00 pm. The decision made by the Admission Committees in any matter shall be deemed final.
