The project brief The purpose of this unit is to allow you to develop the research skills you need to supportboth theoretical and practical elements of your chosen specialism. You will be able toselect the most appropriate methods and techniques for undertaking detailed research.You will have the opportunity to develop the skills needed to identify suitable sourcematerial and to apply the information in context. You will acquire the skills to distinguish

between primary and secondary sources, to evaluate the validity of such sources, and toextract the necessary information from them. You will then be able to synthesise researchmaterial into an appropriate form for presentation (see below.
