ABOUT THE SEMINAR
OBJECTIVES
In the post-reform (since 1991) period, India
has done well in some indicators such as
balance of payment, resilience to external
shocks, service sector growth.
However, exclusion continued in terms of low
agriculture growth, low quality employment
growth, low human development, rural-urban
divides, gender and social inequalities and
regional disparities etc.
There is now recognition that Inclusive Growth
should be achieved in order to reduce poverty
and other disparities and raise economic
growth. Even at international level, there is a
concern about the inequalities and exclusion
and now they are also talking about Inclusive
approach for development.
Reforms are required in many areas, especially
those that are likely to generate an early
investment response. The government's own
resources have to be deployed with a clear
sense of priority. In this context, health and
education and critical infrastructure
development especially in water management
and in backward areas must have top priority.
To develop a deeper theoretical
understanding about the process of
Inclusion.
To examine the various problems during
the implementation of the Inclusive
