Latest news

Autumn at the Brewery With the sun setting on summer we’ve got a bountiful Autumn feast of the best music, theatre, dance, comedy and exhibitions to engage and inspire you.

We have worked hard to ensure there is something for everyone to enjoy and with our special offers, including Music Early Bird and the 342 Theatre & Dance Explorer Package, we’ve made it even more affordable to spread your cultural wings and try something new (see p35).

We’ve also got some fantastic festivals this season, kicking off with Mintfest (30 Aug–1 Sep), followed by the Lakes International Comic Art Festival (18–20 Oct) and finishing with the Kendal Mountain Festival (14–17 Nov).

£80k Raised – Thank You! If you are reading this, chances are you have already enjoyed the luxurious new seats we have installed in the theatre! The refurb was paid for out of the £80,000 we raised through our ‘Fit for 40’ campaign and we will soon use the rest of the money to further improve the Brewery buildings and upgrade our technical equipment. The campaign was a tremendous success and these renovations would not have been possible without YOUR continued support! Thank you!

YOUR ON-GOING SUPPORT IS VITAL

The Brewery is a charity that is 90% self funded – so your support and donations are vital to the day to day running of the Brewery:

• £50 could sponsor a tutor to deliver a morning’s youth dance class

• £100 would help towards staging a school show

• £500 can contribute to vital stage equipment.

£1 or £10,000 – it all helps. There are lots of ways you can support us and donate. For details see: www.breweryarts.co.uk/support-us

Our Unique VenuesThe Malt Room – An iconic venue, like the Cavern or Ronnie Scott’s it is quirky and unusual and has hosted some memorable gigs over the last 40 years from some of the top names on the music and comedy scene.Seating is not raised/tiered and it still has the original slim pillars supporting the low ceiling.

The Theatre – Brand new seating has been installed during summer 2013. Seating is tiered with a flat stage. At extended seated events the stage will be raised.
