DESCRIPTION

Brave New World: There is great deal of uncertainty in business today. You wouldn’t be wrong in thinking theseasons have changed and winter is upon us, the business thermometer is looking decidedly chilled. Each season, however, offers new opportunities, the trick is to recognize the changing signs and not head up amountain in shorts and a t-shirt only to get caught out in a blizzard. In September 2008 the world changed foreverand although many business leaders are hoping for a return to normal as we emerge from the recession, there isnow a new normal and new set of rules for success.Brave New World uses a combination of the latest business research, humour, multimedia and case studies toreveal challenges coming over the horizon and most importantly what business leaders need to do to ensurecompetitiveness during what will be a very different decade from the one before. Trust in companies is at an alltime low and leaders are going to have to work hard to build relationships. The reality of this new world is thatbusinesses need to become more personal and more values driven. The successful companies will develop deepand intimate connections with customers and partners. The next decade will be driven not by shareholdercapitalism but consumer capitalism. Consumers now have more power than ever before and are seeking genuinetwo-way, mutually beneficial relationships. Using examples taken from yacht racing to life on coral reefs Deanpaints a vivid and compelling view of the future of work. He focuses on the importance of vision, values, emergentstrategies, collaboration with customers and shows how we need to be rethinking marketing. Thought-provokingand powerful.
