Brady Introduces New Eco-Friendly Cartridge Design for BMP®51/53 Label Maker M Series Consumables

Beginning May 1, 2013 a new eco-friendly cartridge design is being released and phased in for M-series labels and sleeves used in the Brady BMP®51/53 portable printers for consumables that are 1 inch in width. The new design uses less plastic and has a lower profile and smaller footprint. A fin has been added to make removal of the cartridge from the printer even easier. Forty-five consumables that were in the 1 ½” cartridge have been reoriented 90 degrees on liners to fit into 1” or ¾” cartridges to maximize the benefits of the more eco friendly cartridge. The complete offering for the M series consumables will now have 3 sizes of cartridge widths: ¾” width, 1”width and 1 ½” width. The M series cartridges will continue to contain the same variety of Brady renowned quality consumables to meet the user’s requirements for data communication, wire ID, product ID and facility and safety identification.

A broad offering of consumables and versatile label design options are available for a variety of users/applications which include:

1. Datacomm, audio-visual, and security installers

2. Electrical installers and maintenance applications 3. Facility and safety identification including Lean labeling 4. Product ID, Work-in-Process, and Panel ID 5. Laboratory Identification (One printer does both industrial and laboratory ID!)

There are 45 new BMP51/53 cartridge catalog numbers

• In some cases the number of labels per roll versus current consumables for the BMP51/53 has changed.

• New catalog numbers are created. • Old catalog numbers will be obsolete for 41 parts as supplies of current

product are depleted. • There are four parts that are B342. To fit in the 1” cartridge the liner is 1”

wide, but the sleeve is ¾” therefore the full 1” sleeve on the 1 ½” wide carrier will not obsolete.

• Per label prices however have remained the same. • Current part numbers in circulation are still compatible with BMP51/53

printers and will only be replaced with the new catalog number cartridges as supplies of current product are depleted in a rolling inventory change.

• There will not be mixed shipments of old and new catalog numbers; customers or distributors will get new catalog numbers if quantity requested exceed inventory amount.

• Sample kits and BMP51/53 kits will include new materials as a rolling change as well.
