Boho Model Agency was chosen to provide the models for a National Drink drive campaign. This hard hitting campaign features the models on a morgue slab with make up by Julie Mathews and Laura Brown. This campaign was produced as a 10 second TV ad and posters and gives a stern message to drink drivers. Not all modelling is set in glamourous locations.

Bohomodels agency provided the models for Other Criteria, part of Damien Hirst company. The model used for the shoot was Catherine Mc Kernan.

Damien Hirst made famous for his shark preserved in formaldehyde and recently his £50 million diamond encrusted skull, has now put his name to this range for Other criteria.

What does it take to be a model?1) Having the look that someone needs(generally the client) for the project they are working on at that time,2) Making life easier for the art director and the photographer so they will want to work with you, and3) Making sure the client, photographer, and art director know you exist and want to work.4) Commitment and enthusiasm5) Punctuality and politeness

Should I pay to join an agency? Before you join an agency, do your homework. A glossy website alone does not mean that the agency is trustworthy. Don’t become a victim.Never pay money to a model agency. Do not join an agency if you are expected to pay a fee (e.g. for join-ing, membership or model cards). Reputable agencies never charge their models any fees. They make their money from finding paid work for you and taking a commission.(SOURCE Alba Modeling Advice) Bohomodels are the only local Agency that does Not charge to join. We feel if you true potential to be a model then we as the Agency should nurture this talent. Other agencies charge fees for inclusion on Web Sites, Model Cards, and model schools. We will give you an honest opinion of your chances as a model and if we think you have what it takes Boho will invest in you as a model.

What is a model portfolio and do I need one?A model’s portfolio - or book - is a collection of the model’s best, professionally produced photographs.PLEASE NOTE: My Space, facebook and Family and holiday snaps don’t count. Depending on where you are in your career, your model portfolio would contain photographs produced specifically for your portfolio, tear sheets (published photographs from past assignments, torn out of magazines) or a mixture of both. Before you spend money on a portfolio, find out whether you need one at all. It is important to keep your portfolio updated if you change hair colour, styles etc. If you have decided that you do need a portfolio, remember that your model portfolio is your calling card, your showcase and your single-most important investment in your career. Do the work: Research your options thoroughly and choose wisely. Be prepared to spend some money. The cheapest photographer you can find may well not be your best option. Success is the result of solid investment and hard work, not just luck. Photographs taken by yourself in a mirror for facebook etc are definitely not what is wanted for a portfolio.

What is a Model Booker? This is the person at the agency who is allocated to look after you and that person (male or female) will do their best to get you as many assignments as they can plus the best fee that they can. So when you telephone or call into the agency you will speak with your booker about anything regarding work, pictures, and especially if you want to book yourself out for a day off, note that you must do this in advance. There is nothing worse than a booker trying to contact a model who has not told the agency that he/ she will not be available for a few days or has gone away on holiday. You will not be in anyone’s good books when you get back if you have left a booker and the agency looking a fool to a client!

What is a Casting?A casting is when the client, photographer, film director, or agency would like all the models shortlisted to meet face to face so that they can decide who is most suitable for the job. You will be expected to take your portfolio along with you and tell the client what experience you have. You may be expected to have some polaroids, video or digital shots taken. If it is a fashion shoot you may have to try the clothes on for a test.
