The aim of our project is to rectify the defects in bogie assembly to prevent the DERAILMENT of rails.

Major defects are in bolster, wheel axle, springs.

other defects are pivot pin, thermal defects, brake beams.

other minor defects are also analyzed.

Bogies serves a number of purposes:

• Support of the rail vehicle body.• Stability on both straight and curved track.• Ensuring ride comfort by absorbing vibration

and minimizing centrifugal forces when the train runs on curves at high speed.

• Minimizing generation of track irregularities and rail abrasion.
