Elisha and Two She-Bears

A minister was talking to a children's Sunday school class

about the Old Testament story of the children who mocked

Elisha on his journey to Bethel. For once, he had everyone's

attention, as he described how the youngsters taunted the poor

old prophet and how they were punished: Two she-bears came

out of the wild and ate 42 of them."And now, children," said

the pastor, wondering whether he had gotten his point across,

“what does this story show us?”

A little girl in the front raised her hand and said, "It shows how

many children two she-bears can hold."

OUR GRADS Every year we honour our High School Grads at our 7pm Mass (those that we know about – who belong to our Parish or were Confirmed here). We present them with a gift to help them in their journey, introduce them, and what they’re proud of. It is hard to get in touch with all of them, they are busy people. I asked those I was able to get in touch with about what their plans/hopes are for the future. This is the first time we have decided to publish it in the bulletin so that you can pray for them and congratulate them for their hard work when you see them in person. Thank you – Kevin & Staff. Volunteering

If you have time to offer mentoring with our guys or you would

like to volunteer in our kitchen, if you have a particular trade or

skill that Freedom’s Door would normally have to pay for when

needing renovations or repairs to our facility (IE: plumbing,

electrical) and would like to donate your time, this would help

us by reducing labor costs for building upkeep. To volunteer or

obtain more information please call us and we would be happy

to arrange a tour of the building and discuss our needs.

“By Saturday evening of the retreat, my wife and I were experiencing abundant grace and the loving support of the retreat team and the other participants. For the first time, we were able to share the story of our abortion and felt safe to share our hearts with each other.”
