HOW CAN STUDENTS USE BLOGS?-Students can use blogs to research, create, and learn.

-Students can also use blogs to come together around an idea or topic of interest.

POPULAR PLACES FOR STUDENTS TO BLOG

-Some popular places for students to blog are Facebook and Myspace.

-This is a place where students can blog about personal issues.

-It is important for students to realize the effects of what they post on these types of blogs.

HOW CAN TEACHERS USE BLOGS?-Teachers can use blogs to encourage discussion and

collaboration, much like our discussion board on Blackboard.

-Blogs can be used for notifying students about assignments they may have both over the school year and the summer.

-Blogs can be used in pen pal situations with students from other countries. This makes communication much more effective because it is much faster.

-Blogs offer students opportunities to read a write.

-Blogs can be used by teachers to present group projects to their students in a way that will outline each task. This will allow students access to the information electronically.

-Blogs may motivate students who do not normally participate in classroom activities.

-Blogs provide a great medium for mentoring/scaffolding to occur.
