Mass Intentions

for the Week

Twenty-second Sunday in Ordinary Time September 2, 2018

Humbly welcome the word that has been planted in you and is able to save your souls. —James 1:21b

B S C

A F R Dear Parishioners, The end of summer 2018 is upon us. I hope that each one of you had some time to rest and relax. God blesses us when we find the balance between work and rest placing Him always first by keeping His Commandments. Slowly, but surely we return to our daily duties and routines. The catholic and public schools as well already started the new academic year. On Sunday, September 16th we will celebrate Catechetical Sunday. We ask for God’s blessing for all Catechists of our Confirmation and First Holy Communion program. Before clas-ses start we will have two IMPORTANT PARENT MEETINGS: for Confirmation, Tuesday, September 11th and for First Holy Commun-ion, Thursday, September 13th both to be held at 7:00 p.m. in the church. Classes will start as follows: First Holy Communion Classes. Begin on Sat., Sept., 15th at

10:30 a.m. in the parish hall. First Year Confirmation. Begins Wed., Sept. 12th at 6:00 p.m.

in the parish hall. Second Year Confirmation (Two groups). Begins Sun., Sept.,

16th 9:00 a.m. & 11:00 a.m. in the parish hall. Adult Sacramental Classes. Begin Sun., Sept. 16th at 11 a.m.

in the Parish Hall. Youth Group. Will resume their weekly meetings on Wed.,

Sept. 12th at 7:00 p.m. in the parish hall. Refreshed in mind and spirit let’s continue our working together for God’s greater glory and for the goodness of our parish, passing our faith to the next generations. Traditionally by the end of summer the Parish Financial Report is publicized to let our parishioners know about our financial status and as to how your money from the collections is used and distributed. We know that our parish has several expenses but thanks be to the Divine Providence and your great generosity we are financially doing very well. At their last meeting on June 19, 2018, our Parish Finance Council approved the budget for fiscal year 2018-2019. The parish financial report along with the proposed budget can be found in this weekend’s bulletin. Please take one home to see it. Of course a more detailed version of this condensed statement is available for you in the parish office. I would like also to take the opportunity to express my gratitude to our Parish Council of Knights of Columbus and Fourth Degree K.C. Assembly for donating the vestments for the Eucharistic Exposition and Benediction in MEMORY OF DEACON DAVID VARGAS. The cope and veil will be blessed and used for the very first time on the first Friday of the Month, Sept. 7th at 5:30 p.m. Once again I would like to say “THANK YOU” to each one of you, for sharing your time, talents and treasure. May God bless you and your loved ones. Fr. Wojciech

The Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Feast Day: September 8th

Join us for Mass at 9:00 a.m. Lord God,

the day of our salvation dawned when the Blessed Virgin gave birth to

your Son. As we celebrate her nativity

grant us your grace and your peace. Through Christ our Lord, Amen.

We especially pray every Wednesday after the evening Mass during the Novena of Our Mother of Perpetual Help. Let us pray also for those whom God has called home recently especially Jesus Rodriguez, III. As we mourn their passing, let us rejoice at their birth to eternal life.
