    Blends of instructionalmodalities usually

    include a balancedmixture of onsite,web-based, and self-paced learning(Martyn, 2004;Picciano, 2006;Rossett, Douglis, &

Frazee, 2003). To makeblended learning morepowerful, educatorscan blend variousmedia delivery types, for instance, classroomtrainings, seminars,

In the EFL setting social interaction is needed to facilitate languageoutcomes (Vygotsky, 1987). Therefore blended learning in the EFLsetting can be defined as a pedagogical approach that combines theeffectiveness and socializationopportunities ofthe classroomwiththetechnologically enhanced active learning possibilities of the

online environment (Dziuban, Hartman, Moskal, 2004)

The EFL learner differs from the ESL learner inthree important aspects:a) A lack of socio-cultural exposureb) The lack of chance to practice meaningfully(Oxford, 1990; Spada & Lightbown, 1996)c) The lack of high frequency exposure ofEnglish (Lee, K., 2000, ODonnell, T.). As wewill see later BL can eliminate or at leastdiminish many of these constraints
