FPO, Farmington Hills, Michigan, adds two new lines to its electric bit offerings. Run Cool 100% Carbide Bits and Run Cool With Z-Coat 100% Carbide Bits offer more efficient cutting action for techs. The 100% carbide bits require less pressure, which creates less friction, cutting down on heat buildup so that you can deliver comfortable, clean results to your clients. The highly polished Z-Coat bits offer all of the benefits of the Carbide bits, plus a patent-pending surface that helps them stay sharper longer. The Z-Coat bits also work well on plastic surfaces, such as tips.

Atwood Industries, Cardiff-by-the-Sea, California, introduces a variety of bits to support all electric file fans. The Large Swiss Cone has several applications. Use the top of the cone to file around cuticles and clean and shape underneath longer nails. The cone’s surface removes the surface of an enhancement and shortens nail length.ATWOOD INDUSTRIES

For the tech who loves diamonds, Atwood Industries offers a slew of dia-mond bits. The Whiz coarse diamond bit reduces and removes tough cal-luses on the feet. Special holes in the bit allow sufficient airflow to eliminate heat during filing. Like the Whiz, the Turbo medium-grit diamond-barrel bit also features heat-banishing channels within the diamond. For careful cuticle work, try the Diamond Magic #660 Prep, which can also be used to shorten nails. If you need a delicate bit to perfect those tough-to-handle smile lines, test-drive the Diamond Magic #2S FFD, a smaller version of the company’s Original French-Fill Diamond bit. The Diamond Magic #2S FFD works well on smaller nails and repairs cracks and air pockets.

Atwood Industries also offers several carbide bits, including the Two-Way Z-Carbide Bit, designed with left-handed techs in mind. (Don’t worry! This carbide bit can be used with equal efficacy by both right- and left-handed techs.) The large and small Z-Carbide Barrels now offer two varieties: Choose a barrel with a sharp edge for creating precise smile lines, or a coarse barrel to quickly remove remaining white product for enhancement applica-tions and backfills. Or try the smooth-edged Z-Carbide bits to safely file near the cuticle and skin. The new 3-Week Carbide Bit helps you serve clients who want to stretch their time between backfill services.

Medicool, Torrance, California, offers a full line of 3/32-inch shank bits to fit any electric file, and the company introduces its new Swiss Carbide Bits, which feature high-quality carbide sourced directly from Switzerland. Both right- and left-handed nail technicians can use these crosscut bits, which have protective coatings that prolong the life of the cutting edges. The bits are available in a wide array of sizes and shapes, and work to cut rather than grind down acrylics and gels, reducing friction and heat buildup.

Once you complete your filing, buff nails to perfec-tion with Medicool’s revamped Chamois Buffing Bit. The buffer features larger wheels to cover a bigger surface of the nail, decreasing buffing time for quick turnaround.

Kupa offers three new bits. The VP Safety Bit is a tapered barrel with a rounded top. This new style of smaller bit is perfect for getting into the sidewalls and beveling the cuticle areas safely. The Inverted Backfill bit has a larger circumference at the top of the barrel and a smaller circumference at the base, which gives you a more precise cut when performing backfills. The Nickel Barrel feature’s Kupa’s new nickel finish, which is smooth and sharp without being aggressive and is ideal for use with softer enhancement products such as gels.

Each of the three new bits is available in four finishes. Silver Carbide is the sharpest and does not have any added finish on the surface of the bit. Z Coat is a gold-plated surface. The Gold coat, which is dipped into a gold finish, is the least sharp. Nickel is a new, finer surface and is ideal for use with gel enhancements.
