Mga Handuraw Sa Kahilitan (14 mins) Amaya Han Joy Love is a mentally-‐ill patient with anthropophobia, the fear of people. She is only friends with Chickie, a talking eagle stuffed toy. Although Chickie talks to her, she never talks back to him. And then one day, as Joy Love’s birthday approaches, Chickie plans to surprise her along with his friends leading to the revelation of their secrets.
Ale Alejandra (12 mins) Samantha Solidum Ale Alejandra is a short film about a young woman named Cassandra, who sets off to look for her missing sister, Valerie, and to seek revenge for the murder of their aunt, Alejandra. In her vengeful journey, Cassandra uncovers her aunt’s strange past as a barbecue-‐stick-‐wielding vigilante, and confronts Jeremias, Ferdinand, and Roberto; the three men responsible for Alejandra’s
murder and Valerie’s disappearance, and who were once Alejandra’s comrades in the notorious barbecue-‐stick-‐wielding vigilante group, Sutukil.

He was also invited by a fellow fisher folk to take part in their fight against coral harvesters. Randy has to choose betweeen his devotion or the struggle of the people.

She struggles to cope with the responsibility of providing his ravenous appetite while fearing what he might do to her. Deathsquad Dogs (14 mins) Jose Basa Deathsquad Dogs is a morality tale which centers on two hitmen, Mactan, an aging veteran, and Pasil, a rookie. They are tasked with a mission to kill an unknown target. Little do they know that their target is a drugged up mother and an infant. A tale of breaking innocence as the rookie, Pasil, reacts to killing a soft and hard target for the first time. Abakada ni Nanay (8 mins) Joni Sarina Mejico A 78 year old lady enrolls herself in school to learn how to read and write. BINISAYA 48-‐HR Shootout Challenge (53 mins)
48-‐HR Shootout (53 mins) The 48-‐HR Shootout is a challenge initiated by the Motion Picture Society of Cebu to encourage experience-‐based learning in storytelling. This program will gather Cebu-‐based filmmakers to celebrate the art and craft, as well as the joys and pains, of making movies. Limitations are set to push the creativity of the participating teams in the hopes of cultivating a culture of pragmatic filmmaking and collaborative storytelling.

Auntie Maam Has Never Had A Passport (Thailand) (14 mins) Sorayos Prapapan Auntie Maam is a foot masseuse. She is also a freelance actress in Thai independent films. One day, one of the films she played has been chosen to a film festival in Europe. The film director asks her to join the trip to the festival. Auntie Maam has never had a passport. She consults Kaen, her nephew how to get one. This film is a satire black comedy with social issue. The background is the Thai political
movement against the government in the early of 2014.
Cambodia 2099 (Cambodia) (21 mins) Davy Chou Phnom Penh, Cambodia. On Diamond Island, the country's pinnacle of modernity, two friends tell each other about the dreams they had the night before. Kaloo School (Afghanistan) (11 mins) Sahra Mosawi In between the famous Baba Mountain in rural Center of Afghanistan there is a village with 2500 families with just two schools for children. Nine-‐year-‐old Fakhereh from Afghanistan isn’t content to be a goatherd. She goes to school and enjoys learning. However, she has to walk there on foot and the journey takes two-‐and-‐a-‐half hours. There are only two schools available to children in this mountainous area – one for boys and one for girls. Most of the girls only complete
primary school and then remain at home. Only 5% of women in Afghanistan are educated; the rest are illiterate. Therefore, Fakhereh’s fate is uncertain. The little girl has to take the goats to pasture every morning and bring her father lunch. Will she manage to change things? Does she have any chance of following her dream?
Maryam (Indonesia) (18 mins) Sidi Saleh Maryam is a Muslim stuck in the ritual of another religion with someone who has autism while she is experiencing a difficult inner pressure herself. Will she be able to handle all this pressure at the same time? May Dinadala (Philippines) (20 mins) Giancarlo Abrahan The wife of a middle-‐aged stone miner bears child while he is in a relationship with an enchanted black figure. A fettered commitment to an unborn child he already loves and a wife he despises torments the man. The enchanted lover offers him uncertain seduction. And he must choose, just as every dark creature must only pick between painful fates. The Transplants (Malaysia) Tan Jinglian A young couple struggles to adapt to their country and grows increasingly estranged from one another and from the land they call their birthplace. Young couple in Singapore doesn’t feel at home there anymore after their youth in great China. But why not? Much sentiment. Many questions.

My Paranormal Romance (110 mins) Victor Villanueva Merry just wants to focus on her studies to secure her future, discarding romances and relationships as nonsensical distractions. She wants to get in the toughest university in the country, S.H.U (Super Hard University). But Life throws her a curve-‐ball in the form of a mystical object that makes Merry a magnet for everything paranormal. ISKALAWAGS (78 mins) Keith Deligero One day, in the small peaceful town of Barrio Malinawon, seven young punks, who call themselves the Iskalawags because of their shared love for Filipino action movies (particularly those starred by their idol Jeric Raval), decide to set out on a mini quest to find the tree that according to Palot—the gang’s de facto leader—bears the lone papaya fruit as large as the belly of Intoy’s father. Ang Damgo ni Eleuteria (90 mins) Remton Siega Zuasola Terya, a simple island girl is about to leave her home to marry a foreigner. Her journey ignites a series of events and introduces certain characters that affect her eventual decision to stay or go. The story takes place in the scenic Olango Island in the midst of the Baliw-‐Baliw Festival that hold parallel to Terya’s state of mind as she walks towards her destiny.
Biyernes, Biyernes (90 mins) Various Cebuano Directors There is a lot more going on in current Filipino cinema than what comes out of Manila. The province of Cebu, in the Visayas, is becoming a hotbed of independent filmmaking. Biyernes Biyernes is not intended to be an omnibus of short films, but rather a feature film made by seven directors about the city they live in. The film is set on a Friday, taking place over 24 hours. It is composed of seven different stories, from a political satire set in a mental institution, to tales of violence and prostitution in the urban corners, and even a lesbian love affair.
