    What is Prayer all about?

    What is prayer?

    Prayer is talking to God.

    How do you Pray?

You don't have to use big fancy words or speak forever. Prayer is like speaking to your friend or parent.

    *example*

Relate talking to a friend on a cell phone totaling to GOD.

In the Bible Jesus has given us an example of how to pray it is called the LORD's PrayerThe LORD's Prayer (Matthew 6:9-14) read this all the way through then break it down verse by verse.

(V.9)God deserves to be praised for all He has done and for al He is doing in your life.

    V. 10) Wanting to do whatever GOD wants you to do...Letting GOD use to do his will.

(V.11) GOD provides for our every need. He is waiting for you to come to Him and

    ask for what you need.

    V. 12) no one is perfect and everyone makes mistakes and does stuff they

houldn't of done. But when you sin you need to ask GOD to forgive you. There are

lso times we need to ask GOD to help us forgive people who has hurt us.

Ask the kids " who is hungry" the children who answers give them a snack (this is to be anexample of How God provides for us. It can be done before or after verse 11.

.13) Ask GOD to guide you where you need to go because GOD will never lead you

    e wrong way.

    Game

Have the children pair into groups of 2. One person will be blindfolded andthe other one will lead the other person to the other side. When they get to

the other side have the people switch places and do the same thing back tothe other side.

(Make it a little tricky by placing object in their pathway that they need to go around or over.)

Craft:aterials Needed:Gold ProngsStickers (glitter and or regular)card stock or plain paperGlueGlitterForm Sheets

Cut the paper down to size then punch three holes in the paper. Thenpunch holes in the form sheets. Put the gold prongs in the the holes ofthe form and paper. (make sure you have 2 form pieces for the front andthe back.) then let the children go crazy designing their own prayerJournal.

Do you have to use big fancy word's when you pray? ___________________

This, then, is how you should pray: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,

your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our

daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead

us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For if you forgive other

people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if

you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

Write down a prayer between you and God using the LORD's prayer as an example. Then

draw a picture that goes along with your prayer to GOD.
