Customers on BW found that the performance on WebI increased a lot

A user needs to have a valid BOE session whenever he or she interacts with data based on a Universe, regardless of the client tool choice or if the data is cached.
BOE Platform licensing effect is consistently enforced whether theyre using Web Intelligence, Crystal Reports, Excel, Tableau or any third party tool.
Connected/Disconnected mode
When connected, users can refresh the data and apply row-level and datasource security from the Universe.
For 3rd party tools that implement a disconnected mode: the fully disconnected case is considered an exception, and a warning will appear to tell the user that a connection could
not be established
