DAY-1 (08-02-2016)

A two days National Workshop on Design and Automation was

organized by Deptt. Of Mechanical Engineering Bhagwant University

Ajmer on Feb 08-09 successfully. The work shop was inaugurated by

Er. Pradeep Nathani (Add. Chief engineer Nagar Nigam Ajmer) he

was of the opinion that to meet the customer requirement of good quality

, optimum cost and easily design for products and services, design and

automation is necessary for manufacturing. He should be well

conversant with the latest design and automation tools. After

inauguration first technical session taken up by Ms Namrata Vijay

(Product Manager and Head of Mahrasthtra Region CADD centre).

She informed about the engineering trend in mechanical design , then

design cycle starting from idea generation to prototype development, she

then explained about different software viz Creo, CATIA,

NXCADD,NXCAM and CAE, Solid works and ANSYS software for

analysis purpose and their field of application. She then Spoke about

reverse engineering.

Second Technical Session is take by Er.Rajeev Bhargawa

(Director Rajasthan Infotech from CADD centre, Jaipur). He and his

team explained about 3-D Object printer which is quite and new

technology in which we add material instead of removing metal as is

done by CNC machine. It’s application at present is more for rapid

prototyping demonstration was given by manufacturing a plastic Nut on

3-D printer Plasto 200 in 15 minute time.

Day-2 (09-02-2016)

On second day we had three technical session. First technical session is

taken by Er. P.K Saxena (JGM. HMT Ajmer). He explained about

various design element of CNC machine and different automation

process.

Second Technical session was taken by Er. Jitendra Prasad (DGM

Electrical and Electronics HMT Ajmer). He spoke about all electrical

and electronics unit used for automation, he explained about each

element used in electronic control system including PLC unit and

showed video presentation of different automation process and their

application. Pneumatic automatic and robotics automation was also

demonstrated.

Third technical session was taken by Er. Vimal Gupta (Centre Head

CADD centre Ajmer) who spoke on solid work software.

For the valedictory session chief guest was Er. D.B Mundra (Jt

President Toshniwal Industry Pvt. Ltd Ajmer) who also shared his

experience on design and automation with his vast experience of cement

industry for which he had been the project head

To conclude we would say that all the presentation as well as

interactions were very enriching and the gathering was definitely

benefited in basics to latest development in design and automation.
