M 99Dynamic Microphone Order # 445.394

The M 99 is a dynamic moving coil microphone ofstudio quality. The tailored frequency response suitsmany applications from instrument miking to on-airbroadcasting. The beyerdynamic TG-X technology usedin the M 99 features a strong Neodymium magnet system and a mass reduced special Mylar diaphragm to give the microphone a powerful reproduction with excellent transient characteristics. The frequency response is extremely linear andguarantees audio quality which has until now, only been achieved by using high-quality condenser micro-phones.The frequency select-switch at the base of themicrophone allows three settings of equalisation, linearand two optimised settings for vocals and instrumentmiking. A second switch is for presence accentuation. This allows further adjustment for close mikingtechniques or kick drum miking. The hypercardioid polarpattern helps to eliminate feedback in live applicationsand allows a good separation between different instru-ments. The microphone can operate at very high soundpressure levels without loss of sound quality and virtuallyno distortion. The M 99’s die-cast casing is made of aircraft gradealuminium and finished with an attractive metallicvarnish.

5.1 MONITORING HEADPHONE SYSTEMwww.beyerdynamic.com35

Headzone PROProfessional 5.1 Monitoring Headphone System Order # 490.911

Headzone PRO is the first mobile headphone system that allows professional monitoring withvirtual 5.1 reproduction. With the help of the most up-to-date digital signal processing (DSP),“Binaural Environment Modelling” technology and patented ultrasonic-headtracking the system achieves an audio impression which is equivalent to a genuine 5.1 loudspeaker arrangement with respect to localisation and space impression. Headzone offers all the advantages of a compact headphone solution but manages to avoid all the familiar disadvantages such as localisation in the head, lack of spatial effect and the turning of the auditory space with the head.

The Headzone system is ideal for use in various applications including software game sound design, broadcast, post production, music studios or mobile recording environments.

For further information about Headzone please visit our websitewww.beyerdynamic.com or send an e-mail to [email protected].

Room ModellingSimulating your own personal reference control room

With Headzone’s advanced environment simulation software it’s easy to model the sound of aloudspeaker system (up to 5.1) and to recall it at any time. The parameters that affect sound ina real room can all be adjusted virtually: the position of the loudspeakers in the room, their distance from the listener, the size and also the acoustic qualities of the room. So it’s you whodecides the audio environment in which to work at any time.

HeadtrackingHeadtracking for perfect localisation and constant spatial awareness

Headzone makes sound an experience. Through the use of the ultrasonic-headtracker system,Headzone permanently detects the position of your head and adapts the source audio playbackposition accordingly. Unlike traditional headphones turning your head does not affect the localisation of Headzone’s sound. As in a real environment, when using Headzone the virtualspeaker or sound source is located in front of, next to or behind you depending on how youturn your head, therefore simulating the “sweet spot” in your control room. The result is so effective that you completely forget that you are wearing headphones.

ApplicationsTrue virtual reality, no matter where you are

Headzone for surround studio monitoringRegardless of whether it is used as a secondary listening device in professional surround studios,as a solution for 5.1 surround monitoring or whilst out and about: With Headzone, you cantake your reference control room with you.

Headzone for broadcast monitoringEven in the most compact of broadcast vehicles, Headzone is the ideal solution for surroundmonitoring. The system requires minimal space and can be installed quickly. But that’s not all:Headzone is so discreet that the surround material can even be listened to whilst on locationduring live recording.

Headzone for software game sound designersDo you engineer real sounds to create your own? With 5.1 surround becoming an integral partof software gaming, Headzone is a perfect tool for programmers and sound designers alike, even when you are on the move.
