MC 840Large diaphragm condenser microphone Order # 482.838 The MC 840 is a compact large diaphragm studio microphone with a gold vaporised double diaphragm and five selectable polar patterns (omnidirectional, wide cardioid, cardioid, hypercardioid, figure-eight). On the basis of the MC 740 microphone capsule this new microphone has been equipped with an improved low-noise pre-amplifier and an impedance transformer without transducer. Due to a two-stage roll-off filter (80 and 160 Hz) compensating the close miking effect and a two-stage pre-attenuation (-10 and -20 dB) the MC 840 is a superior microphone for any recording application. It has been designed without compromise to capture every sound detail with absolute clarity and purity. Applications for the MC 840 include recording orchestras resulting in a superb transparent sound.

MC 834Condenser Microphone Order # 441.228 The MC 834 condenser microphone features a extremely linear frequency curve and a frequency response of 20 to 20,000 Hz. Due to its cardioid polar pattern it has a high gain-before-feedback. Without pre-attenuation the microphone has a SPL capability of 130 dB, with pre-attenuation up to 150 dB. The MC 834 offers a dynamic that cannot be reached by any digital recording system. The microphone has a balanced output and can be powered by phantom power between 12 and 52 V. The MC 834 is a universal studio microphone to be used for digital recording, both lead and back-up vocals, voice-overs, miking of pianos, strings and brass instruments. It is also suited to the home recording artist.

To adjust for SPL levels in excess of 130 dB, a knurled pre-attenuation switch with indicator is provided on the front of the barrel and is rotated to show 0 dB (no attenuation), 10 dB (SPLs up to 140 dB), or 20 dB (SPLs up to 150 dB).

To adjust for proximity effect or extraneous low frequency ambient sounds, a three position knurled switch with indicator is provided on the rear of the barrel and is rotated to show LIN (flat, with no roll-off), 80 (6 dB
