meet the artistHi! My name is Betsey Darley. I am a custom photographer in Northern VA

and surrounding areas. I specialize in little ones, families and portraits.

I aim to capture people just the way they are: the beautiful, silly, pouting, giggly

and serious moments of life. It's my goal to celebrate you simply being YOU.

During our sessions, I limit posed photography, because I believe in shooting

the real, everyday moments of life without having to stop and say, "cheese."

Our family recently moved from Greenville, SC, to Fairfax, VA. I’ve been

married to my amazingly supportive husband for over 10 years now! I am

so thankful for him and how he supports my dreams. I am a very fortunate stay

at home mommy of two wild and passionate toddlers, Rylyn and Brennen,

who constantly keep me on my toes. I’m crazy about my family and photography

and feel very blessed to be able to pursue both of my loves. 

I am honored that you are considering me to be your photographer. I look

forward to getting to know you and your family and creating a custom

portrait experience for you.

style guideCustom photography is all about reflecting your personality, and your

clothing should play a part. I encourage you to wear what you love and

feel good in. For family portraits, try to coordinate but not match. If you

and your family don’t normally dress alike in white shirts and khakis and

walk around town, don’t dress this way for a session. A few helpful hints

for everyone: bright, cheerful colors can help enhance photos and make

them pop. A mixture of textures and patterns are good at making an

individual or small group shot stand out. Vibrant colors that bring out

your eyes are always a plus. Feel free to bring along any fun accessories

that reflect you too!

the process1. Choose the type of session you want (maternity, newborn, senior,

family, head shots).

2. Fill out the client contract form at http://www.betseydarley.com.

3. Send deposit to hold date. Check, cash and PayPal are accepted.

4. After your session (1-2 weeks), view your proofs in an online gallery.

5. Set up an ordering appointment to choose a collection and be able

to add additional items at “Specialty Collection Pricing.”

Portrait Session: $150

A 1-1.5 hour session at your home or outdoor location. Great for head

shots, high school seniors, families, children or engagement photos.

Newborn Session: $195

A 2-3 hour session at your home, preferably within the first 12 days of

birth. Other family members can be included for no additional charge.

*(Session fees cover my time, experience and talent as a photographer.)
