Black History Essay Contest & Theodore Gibson Oratorical Competition
The purpose of this contest is to enhance elementary and secondary school students’ writing skills while promoting an awareness of a particular Black History theme. This year’s was “Hallowed Grounds”.
Theodore Gibson Oratorical Competition is to provide students with the opportunity to discover and refine their research, writing, and public speaking skills through a challenging competition.
Congrats to last years winners:1st Place- Robert Carr, grade 1, Melrose Elementary (K-2)1st Place- Ryanna Bruce, grade 5, Poinciana Park Elementary (3-5)1st Place- Harold Rivas, grade7, Hialeah Gardens Middle1st Place- Jacob Herman, grade11, New World School of the Arts
Model U.N. & We the People Model U.N.: A competition that provides students
with a better understanding of the inner workings of the U.N. and a forum to hone skills in diplomacy, negotiation, critical thinking, compromise, public speaking, writing, and research.
We the People: Simulated competition that provides students with the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge of the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights by taking part in a simulated congressional hearing

Geography & History Bee
The Geography and History Bees are academic competitions that challenge five-member student teams from participating schools to demonstrate their knowledge of geography and history.
