Fresh Fruit & Vegetable Grant

The Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) has selected the schools to participate in the highly competitive Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (FFVP) for the 2013-2014 School Year - only 176 schools throughout the Commonwealth have been selected for participation. Benjamin Rush Elementary School has been awarded the grant.

Fresh Fruit & Vegetable Grant

Funding for the 2013-14 FFVP school year began July 1, 2013. PDE determines the grant amount each school will receive using an enrollment-based formula. Each school is funded at approximately $64 per student. This will provide students and staff with the opportunity to sample fruits and vegetables not commonly available to such families.

English for Adults

Where: Rush Library and Computer Lab

When: Tuesday and Thursday Evenings (6:30-8:00 PM)

Session 1: October 22 to December 12, 2014

Session 2: January 14 to April 24, 2014

What: Direct Instruction + Rosetta Stone

Who: Up to 30 Participants chosen

Need to have child attending Rush

Can have multiple people from same home

8:30Students can enter for breakfast

Dismissal Procedures

3:20Shuttle Buses/Vans are called to Atrium

3:30Walkers/Car Riders and BASE are dismissed

3:40Buses 42, 68 and 37 are dismissed as they arrive
