What is the 2002 Curriculum for formal Basic Education?

• The 2002 Basic Education Curriculum (BEC) is a restructuring of the elementary and secondary curriculum (NESC and NSEC) which was implemented in 1983 and 1989 respectively.

What is the need to restructure the curriculum?

The global context of our education system has changed and continues to change.

Half of what students learn today will be obsolete in the next five years and so.
