Introduction to BastilleBastille are a English Rock Band that formed in 2010. From February 2014, Bastille have sold over 2.07 million records in the UK alone. Their genre of music they specialize in is Rock, Indie Pop and Synthpop. They began as a solo project by singer-songwriter Dan Smith, who later decided to form a band. The four-piece consists of members; Smith, Chris Wood, William Farquarson and Kyle Simmons. The name of the band comes from Bastille Day – an event celebrated on Smith's birthday, 14 July. They are signed to Virgin Records this is a subsidiary as it is partially owned by Universal Music group. The conglomerate Universal.

Universal are vertically integrated to an extent because they have the means to produce and distribute music. They are also Horizontally integrated as Universal also produce Movies.

Bastille’s most recent album is called ‘All this bad blood’. It was released on the 25th November 2013 on a double album. The first disc is of Bastille's debut record, Bad Blood, originally released in March 2013. The second disc is split into two parts, titled All This Bad Blood and Other People's Heartache. But their album before called ‘Bad Blood’ it was released on the 4th March 2013. the album had gold certificates in many countries including; Australia, Austria, Canada and Germany. Also It went x2 Platinum in the UK.

Bastille’s album is available buy on iTunes and Amazon, but you can also stream on many websites including; Rdio and Spotify.

Bastille has a twitter account; @bastilledan, they tweet a lot promoting their album and the gigs they are going to. They also have their own website called www.bastillebastille.com. They also have a facebook and a sound cloud account.
