on display today are our emerging proposals for a
residential led mixed-use development on land at
Basingstoke Golf course.
Bloor Homes are working closely with Basingstoke and Deane Borough
Council to deliver a new residential community, in line with their adopted
Local Plan. The redevelopment of the Golf Course will form the final stage of
the planned south-west expansion of Basingstoke.
The Council are preparing a Development Brief for the site which will be
prepared alongside the planning application process. This Development
Brief will be a Supplementary Planning Document against which the planning
application will ultimately be determined.
We are currently working towards preparing an Outline Planning Application
in Spring 2019 and today’s event will enable you to:
• Gain an understanding of our vision and aspirations for the site;
• Provide us with your views and observations;
• Meet the project team and ask us questions
Once you have reviewed the material on display today, please take the time
to complete a feedback form: www.LandatBasingstokeGolfCourse.co.uk.
Thank you for taking the time to attend our event.

Basingstoke Golf Course comprises approximately 44.5 hectares and is located
2.5 miles south west of Basingstoke Town Centre. The Site is well contained with
existing residential development to the east and the M3 and woodland to the south
and south-east, and the A30 to the west.
On the opposite side of the A30 are new and planned residential communities
known as Hounsome Fields and Longacre (formerly Kennel Farm).
Basingstoke Golf Club is in negotiations to relocate to Dummer Golf Club.
Bloor Homes are seeking outline planning permission for the principle of a
residential-led mixed use-development in accordance with the adopted Local Plan
which will make a valuable contribution to delivering the Council’s housing need.
The application will be in outline form, with all matters reserved except for access.
The exact location of new homes and community infrastructure, plus the housing
layout and design of new homes will be subject to separate reserved matters
planning applications once outline planning permission has been granted.
Basingstoke and Deane local Plan (2016) allocates Basingstoke
Golf Course under Policy SS3.11 that will deliver a high-quality mixed-use
development that, in summary, sets out the following provision:
• Approximately 1,000 new dwellings comprising a mix of sizes and types;
• A proportion of self-build units and pitch/plot provision for accommodation
needs of Gypsies, Travellers and Travelling Showpeople;
• Social and physical infrastructure including a community centre, local shopping
facilities, and sports facilities including playing pitches to meet the needs of
Hounsome Fields and Basingstoke Golf Course;
• Improvements to the A30 corridor;
• All-purpose vehicular access from (A30) Winchester Road and Beggarwood
• Provision of internal walking and cycling routes linked to external routes, the
Public Rights of Way network, and the Strategic Cycle Network;
• Provision of Public Transport;
• Appropriate open space / green infrastructure, including allotments;
• Noise mitigation measures; and
• Renewable and low carbon energy technologies.
