Barry Yeates – Profile

Barry Yeates has developed all career advancement and related services throughout our company’s 25-year history. His extensive consulting and coaching experience includes work with organizations and individuals in the government, multilateral, NGO, corporate, political and education fields in more than 25 countries. He has also delivered training workshops in Canada, the United States and Europe at over 150 schools, universities and conferences. Barry joined the then Department of External Affairs (now Global Affairs Canada) as a Foreign Service officer. Among other duties, he served in the Media Relations Office in Ottawa and as Executive Assistant to the Ambassador at the Canadian Embassy in Washington, D.C. He was later Regional Manager–Caribbean and Central America for a program fostering development through increased trade, and worked in organizational development with an international consulting firm serving clients worldwide. Barry holds a Master’s degree from the University of Guelph and was awarded a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council Doctoral Fellowship. He taught at Guelph and Carleton universities, and served as Secretary to the Board of Governors and Assistant to the President at Trent University.
