MENSAHE
Ang pagsasagawa ng BARANGAY SOCIO ECONOMIC PROFILE, ng isang
Barangay ay napakahalaga dahil ito ay isang bagay na mapagkukunan ng
mga impormasyon ukol sa barangay. Ag katatayuan ng kanyang
mamamayan, ang kanyang lugar o lokasyon at higit sa lahat ay pisikal na
katayuan ng barangay na siyang basehan ng Pamahalaang Lokal at
Nasyonal, para sa kanilang tulong at suporta.
Kaya naman, ang buong mamamayan ng BARANGAY VILLA IBABA ay
aking hinihimok na lalo pang magsikap at magkaisa dahil akoy naniniwala na
ang pagkakaisa ay siyang susi upang umunlad ang isang komunidad.
Mapaganda at mapayaman an gating likas yaman.

MENSAHE
Mahalaga ang kamulatan ng mamamayan sa mga impormasyon ukol sa
bawat barangay ng Atimonan. Ang magbigay ng konkreto at angkop na mga
datos ang layunin ng Socio-Economic Profile ng mga Barangay. Ito rin ang
magsisilbing matibay na batayan upang mabalangkas ng Pamahalaang Bayan
ang mga programang pangkaunlaran na ang mamamayan ang higit na
makikinabang.
Ang ating mamamayan ang salamin ng kaunlaran ng bayan kaya ang
progreso ng apatnapu’t dalawang barangay ay pinapahalagahan ng Lokal na
Pamahalaan ng Atimonan. Ang Socio-economic Profile ang testimonya na patuloy
ang pag-unlad ng ating bayan.

1. HISTORICAL BACKGROUND
KASAYSAYAN NG BARANGAY VILLA IBABA
Ang bayan ng Atimonan ay binubuo ng 38 barangay sa kasalukuyan, sa dakong
hilagang kanluran sa baybayin ng Lamon Bay, ay mayroong apat na nayon, isa sa mga ito
ang Villa Ilaya, na pinakaliblib sa lahat at mararating lamang sa pamamagitan ng bangka at
paglalakad. Ito ang kahulihulihang nayon ng Atimonan sa baybayin ng Lamon Bay at siyang
kanugnog naman ng nayon ng Sto. Niño ng bayan ng Mauban. Ang dakong timog ng Villa
Ilaya ay kabundukan ng Sierra Madre na kilalang-kilala ng kahit na sino.
Noong unang panahon ang pook na ito ay isa pang basal na kagubatan at dahil
dito napakahirap ng paninirahan dito. Nang dumating ang mga Kastila, marami sa mga tao
ay nilisan ang kabayanan upang takasan ang kalupitan ng mga dayuhan. Ang mga tao ay
nagkahiwahiwalay, may angkanang nagpunta sa timog silangan, mayroon sa kanluran at
ang iba naman ay hilagang kanluran.
Ang angkan ng mga VILLANUEVA ang siyang nagpunta sa hilagang kanluran na
siyang kauna-unahang nagbungkal ng lupa sa pook na iyon. Dahil sa kanilang kasipagan,
sila ang pinagpala ng Maykapal at biniyayaan ng masaganang ani, hindi lang ng palay,
ngunit gayun din sa iba pa nilang pananim. Dahil dito’y napabantog ang magandang
kapalaran ng angkanang ito kaya’t unti-unting naakit ang iba pang angkanan, na magbukid
sa pook na ito.
Lumipas ang mga taon, ang lupain ng mga VILLANUEVA ay lumawak ng lumawak
dahil sa kanilang kasipagan at tiyaga, dahil dito, ang pook na ito ay nabansagang VILLA.
Nalagas ang maraming taon sa tangkay ng panahon, ang pook na ito ay patuloy ng dumami
ang mga naninirahan. Kung magkakaroon ng mahalagang pulong, kadalasan ay hindi
nakakadalo ang mga taga malayo dahil ayon sa marami ay hindi nila naririnig ang tambuli
na siyang naghuhudyat na mayroong gaganaping kapulungan, kaya sa isang pulong na
naganap ay napagkasunduan ng mga tao na bahaginin ito sa dalawa, ang dakong ibaba na
malapit sa kabayanan ay tinaguriang VILLA IBABA at ang dakong ilaya ay tinawag na VILLA
ILAYA.
2. PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS Barangay Villa Ibaba is one of the coastal Barangays of Atimonan, located about 8 kilometers away from the town’s poblacion. It is 9 kilometers away Maharlika Highway bounded on the north by Lamon Bay, on the south by Barangay Rizal, on the East by Caridad Ilaya and on the west by Barangay Villa Ilaya. It has total land area of 1,285.5300 hectares per record of Municipal Assessors Office composed of seven sitios/puroks; Asuncion, Matinik, Ilang-ilang, Sampaguita, Balite, Masagana and Nagkakaisa. Topography of the barangay is mountainous, plain and hilly. Almost 94% of the land is agricultural. Definitive data were specified below:

3. SOCIO-ECONOMIC SECTOR
RHU Survey of Population 2014, showed that Brgy. Villa Ibaba has a population of 883
with a computed population growth rate of 5.75%. There are more male than female , with age distribution revealing 70.55% of the total population belong to ages 10-59 years old; 20.72% under 1 year old to 9 years old and 8.72% belonging to 60 years old and above. This shows that Barangay Villa Ibaba has more dependent than working population.
School going population (pre-school, elementary, secondary and college) is computed at
42% of the total population and the most common religion is Roman Catholic.

are copra and banana. There is no existing irrigation system that contributed to the limited
