Una sa lahat ay nagpapasalamat ako sa Poong Maykapal sa pagbibigay
ng oportunidad at pag-asa na makapaglingkod ako sa aking mga kabarangay.
Nagpapasalamat din ako sa pagbibigay ng mga tapat na namumuno na
may paninindigan, pananaw at may takot sa Diyos upang makapag lingkod ng
tapat at matuwid na serbisyo sa aming Baranggay na may tunay at natural na
serbisyo.
Sa mga kabarangay ko, asan nyo po na ang inyong lingkod Kgg. Ronie O.
Montejo ay maglilingkod sa inyo ng tapat, makabuluhan at tunay at natural na
serbisyo at may paninindigan upang ang lahat ng pang-proyektong
pambarangay ay maging matagumpay ang lahat.

MENSAHE
Mahalaga ang kamulatan ng mamamayan sa mga impormasyon ukol sa
bawat barangay ng Atimonan. Ang magbigay ng konkreto at angkop na mga
datos ang layunin ng Socio-Economic Profile ng mga Barangay. Ito rin ang
magsisilbing matibay na batayan upang mabalangkas ng Pamahalaang Bayan
ang mga programang pangkaunlaran na ang mamamayan ang higit na
makikinabang.
Ang ating mamamayan ang salamin ng kaunlaran ng bayan kaya ang
progreso ng apatnapu’t dalawang barangay ay pinapahalagahan ng Lokal na
Pamahalaan ng Atimonan. Ang Socio-economic Profile ang testimonya na patuloy
ang pag-unlad ng ating bayan.

VISION
Magiging Malakas at matatag na Barangay para sa
ikauunlad ng bawat isa. Maging Sentro na komersyo at
takbuhan ng iba pang barangay na nangangailangan ng
tulong.
MISSION
Upang magkaroon ng pagkakaisa sa bawat kasapi ng
barangay tungo sa ikauunlad ng bawat miyembro at ng
pamahalaan.
1. HISTORICAL BACKGROUND
KASAYSAYAN NG BARANGAY TAGBAKIN
Noong unang panahon, bago pa ang lugar na ito ay makilala sa pangalang
Tagbakin ay tinawag itong GITINGAN dahil ang lugar na ito ay sagana sa mga batong
kung tawagin ay GITING.
Tiniwag din itong SALANGIHAN dahil sa isang pangyayaring naganap sa
lugar na ito. Noo’y may magasawang matanda na ninais makatangap ng sakramento
ng kumpisal at komunyon bago sila pumanaw. Ipinasya ng kanilang mga apo na
sunduin ang kura paroko sa bayan. Subalit sa paglalakad ng pari papunta sa bahay
ng dalawang matanda ay nadulas ito at natapon sa lupa ang ostiyang dala. Mula noon
ay ipinagbawal na ang pagtapak sa nasabing lugar pati na ang pag-ihi dito. Kaya ang
sitio na ito ay tinawag na “Salang Ihan”.
Subalit sa paglipas ng panahon ang lugar na ito ay higit na nakilala sa
pangalang TAGBAKIN na ayon sa matatanda ay mula sa salitang TAGBAK, isang
halaman saganang tumutubo sa lugar na ito.
Ang iba ay nagpapalagay na ang pangalang TAGBAKIN ay sa salitang
TAKAPAGKILALA na ipinangalan sa lugar na ito bilang pagkilala at pagpapahalaga sa
isang tagapagkilala na nagmula sa lugar na ito ng TAGBAKIN.
2. PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS Brgy. Tagbakin is one of the brangays located along the Maharlika Highway and to inner part of Atimonan and about 1.5 kilometers away from the town’s poblacion. It is bounded on the north by Barangay San Isidro, on the south by Barangay Angeles , on the west by Barangay Baluguhin and on the east by Brgy. Buhangin and Brgy. Manggalayan Labak.
It has a total land area of 328.519.1860 hectares per record of Municipal Assessor’s Office composed of thirteen sitios- Purok Taytay, Purok Bagong Pook, Purok Bagong Silang, Purok United Village, Purok Diversion Ibaba, Purok Diversion Ilaya, Purok Villa Buyaso, Purok Munting Sambat, Purok Tamaba, Purok Hagikhik, Purok Gitna, Purok Gitna, Purok Core Housing and Purok Ilaya. 3. SOCIO-ECONOMIC SECTOR
3.1 DEMOGRAPHY RHU Survey of Population 2014, showed that Brgy.Tagbakin had a population of 6,059 with computed growth rate of 1.71%. There are more male than female, with age distribution revealing 69.61% of the total population belong to ages 10-59 years old; 19.11% under 1 year old to 9 years old and 11.27% belonging to 60 years old and above. This shows that Brgy. Tagbakin has almost equal in number working population and dependent population. School going population (pre-school, elementary, secondary and college) is computed at 38% of
the total population and the most common religion is Roman Catholic.

3.2. GENERAL ECONOMIC PROFILE
90% or 467.4026 hectares of the barangay is devoted to agriculture. Major crops are copra
and rice. There are 3 hectares of land use for irrigation system that contributed to the
production of farm products. Some of the populace are leaned to poultry production for
additional source of income.
