TANGGAPAN NG PUNUMBAYAN
MENSAHE
Mahalaga ang kamulatan ng mamamayan sa mga impormasyon ukol sa
bawat barangay ng Atimonan. Ang magbigay ng konkreto at angkop na mga
datos ang layunin ng Socio-Economic Profile ng mga Barangay. Ito rin ang
magsisilbing matibay na batayan upang mabalangkas ng Pamahalaang Bayan
ang mga programang pangkaunlaran na ang mamamayan ang higit na
makikinabang.
Ang ating mamamayan ang salamin ng kaunlaran ng bayan kaya ang
progreso ng apatnapu’t dalawang barangay ay pinapahalagahan ng Lokal na
Pamahalaan ng Atimonan. Ang Socio-economic Profile ang testimonya na patuloy
ang pag-unlad ng ating bayan.

Punumbayan
KATANGIAN AT INTERPRETASYON SA OPISYAL NA LOGO NG BARANGAY
Ang opisyal na sagisag (logo) ay binubuo ng dalawang hugis bilog, isa(1) sa loob at isa sa labas. Ang espasyo sa gitna ng dalawang (2) hugis bilog ay nakasulat ang mga sumusunod:
BARANGAY LAKIP– pangalan ng barangay at nakalagay sa itaas na bahagi ng bilog.
ATIMONAN, QUEZON – pangalan ng bayan at probinsyang nakaksakop sa barangay sa ibabang bahagi ng hugis bilog.
Ang gitnang bahagi ng nasa loob ng bilog ang mga sumasagisag sa pagkakakilanlan ng barangay ay ang mga sumusunod:
BUNDOK sumisimbolo na ang mga naninirahan dito ay may mataas na pangarap para sa maayos at tahimik na pamumuhay. PUNONG KAHOY sumisimbolona ito ay namumunga ng masagana para sa kaunlaran ng pamayanan BUKID na sumisimbolo sa masaganang ani bilang pangunahing produkto at pinagkukunan ng ikabubuhay na nagpapatunay ng kasipagan at pagtitiyaga ng mga naninirahan dito ARAW sumisimbolo ang sinag nito sa patuloy na pag-asensoat nagging gabay sa pang araw-araw na pamumuhay tungo sa katagumpayan ng bawat isa KULAY LUNTIAN sumisimbolo sa likas na yaman para sa pangunahing produkto ng barangay KULAY BUGHAW sumisimbolo sa pag-asa at kapayapaan ng pamumuhay
Ang pagkilala ay ibinibigay sa mga nag-ambag para sa pagsasa-ayosng opisyal na sagisag (logo) ng barangay at ito ay ang mga sumusunod:
KGG. PRIMITIVO V. ESTRADA – (Punong Brangay 1997-2002) na nagpatupad ng pagkakaroon ng opisyal na sagisag (logo) ang barangay. GNG. EMILITA A. REYES – (Kalihim ng Barangay) para sa pagdisenyo at pagguhit ng sagisag taong 1999. SANGGUNIANG BARANGAY (KASALUKUYAN) sa pagbibigay ng kahulugan ng sagisag.
VISION
Isang mapayapa at maunlad na pamayanan na may
pananalig at takot sa Diyos, tumatalima sa Batas na
umiiral, nagtitiwala sa lakas ng pagkakaisa at kumakalinga
sa kalikasan.
MISSION
Maiangat ang antas ng pamumuhay ng mga
mamamayan at mapanatili ang isang mapayapa at
maunlad na pamayanan.
1. HISTORICAL BACKGROUND
KASAYSAYAN NG BARANGAY LAKIP
Noong unang panahon ang Barangay Lakip ay dalawang pook na may tig-isang
sitio, ang Sitio BALAGASAN at ang Sitio TAMLONG na pinaninirahan ng mga matatahimik
na angkanan na pinaghiwalay ng isang mahaba at matulaing ilog MINANUKAN. Sa ilog na
ito nagkikita-kita at nagkakakilili ang mga binata at dalaga sa tuwing sila ay sumasalok na
tubig, naglalaba, namimingwit o kaya ay naliligo.
Ito kadalasan ay nagiging daan ng pagtibok ng mga puso at nagbibigay daan sa
mga wagas na pag-ibig ng mga pusong wala pang pananagutan sa buhay hanggang sa sila
ay pagbuklurin sa harap ng dambana na siyang nagsisilbing malinis, matibay, matatag at
LAKIP ng pagmamahal na bigkis sa bawat isa.
Ang pook ng TAMLONG na nasa dakong Silangan ng Ilog Minanukan ay kubli sa
malakas na hanging amihan kung masungit ang panahon. Ito ay may isang sitio, ang Sitio
LIBHO, isang liblib na lugar ngunit matiwasay ang mga taong doo’y naninirahan.
Sa kabilang pampang ng ilog, sa dakong nilulubugan ng araw ay ang pook
BALAGASAN. Sagana sa malinis at maayos na tubig at may kaayaayang panahon dahil
kahit tag-araw ay hindi gaanong mainit. Doon mo malalasap at masasamyo ang mabango
at kasiya-siyang palay-palay na nagbubuhat sa gubat at mabatong bulubundukin ng nag-
iisang sitio nito, ang Sitio KAGAKAG, sagana sa bulaklak ng baging at kahoy gubat. May
malinis at walang patid na daloy ng tubig.
Noong mga panahong yaon ay doon ka makakarinig ng mga awit na nakatutulig
ng maraming kabakab sa kapatagan ng bundok. Sa pook na ito ay matahimik na
naninirahan ang mga angkanang doon ay namumuhay.
Maganda ang pagsasamahan ng mga tao sa dalawang pook na ito. Sila ay
mapayapa, maligaya, at sagana sa mga pagkain. Namamayani sa bawat isa ang
pagkakapatiran at tunay na pagtutulungan maging spiritual o panlipunan. Walang mahirap
at walang mayaman. Dahil dito pinag-isa o pinag-LAKIP ang dalawang pook na ito ng
BALAGASAN at TAMLONG. Magmula noon ang pook na ito ay tinaguriang LAKIP.
2. PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS
Barangay Lakip is one of the inner barangay of Atimonan, located about 9 kilometers
away from town’s poblacion. This barangay is 4 kilometers away from National Highway bounded on the north by Barangay Habingan, on the south by Barangay Manggalayan Labak, on the east by Barangay Kilait and on the west by Barangay Manggalayan Labak.
It has a total land area of 294.9129 hectares per record of Municipal Assessors Office composed of ten puroks- Purok I, Purok II, Purok III, Purok IV, Purok V, Purok VI, Purok VII, Sitio Tamlong, Sitio Balagasan and Sitio Kagakag.

3. SOCIO-ECONOMIC SECTOR RHU Survey of population 2014, showed that Barangay Lakip had a population of 464 with a computed population growth rate of 1.22%. There are more male than female, with age distribution revealing 67.88% of the total population belongs to ages 10-59 years old; 19.40% under 1 year old to 9 years old and 12.72% belonging to 60 years old and above. This shows that Barangay Lakip working population is less than dependent population.
School going population (pre-school, elementary, secondary and college) is computed at
33.41% of the total population and the most common religion is Roman Catholic and Bible Baptist.

3.2. GENERAL ECONOMIC PROFILE
55.84% or 300.00 hectares area of the barangay is devoted to agriculture. Major crops
are copra, rice, and variety of fruits and vegetables. There is no existing irrigation system that
contributed to the limited production of farm products. Some of the populace are leaned to
poultry production for additional source of income.
