SECTIONAL VIEW

InTrunnion Mounted BallValve,the ball rotates without moving on the horizontal axis,where asseatsarefloating and free to move on the sameaxis. Asthe pressure increasesthe force on the seat ring by the pressure pushestowards the ball giving 'BIDIRECTIONAL'sealing.

Thrust due to (Fluid Pressure+ spring) both on the upstream and downstream, pushes seat ring towards the ball for positive sealing under allconditions. When the valve isin closed position, the fluid trapped in the body cavity issubjected to thermal expansion and the valve cavitypressure increases.The excessive pressure buildup within the valve cavity is relieved automatically when the pressure inside exceed the springload on the seat.

Internal Trunnion reduces the chance offluid leakagetothe atmosphere asin the caseof external Trunnion Mounted baliValves.

FEATURES

Different seat configurations are available to meet the widerange of applications. The use of high integrity sealingtechnology combined with optimum seat material assuresreliable performance. Our standard valves are equipped withnylon seats with Type - A seat construction. Other seatConstructions and materials are selected based on customerspecifications and expectations.TYPEA

Seatinsert ispositively locked in to the seat retainer.The seatmaterials such as PTFE,RPTFE,Nylon and Peekare available.The tangential seat/ ball contact requires far lesstorque thanother seatwith increased contact area.Spring loading of theseat holders ensures leak tightness even at low pressure.Theseatsareeasyto replace at the time of damage.TYPEB

Elastomer seat design is available for low pressure andzero leakage reliability requirements. The seals are easilyreplaceable with lessmaintenance cost.TYPEC

There are several applications that require metal to metalsealing.The usual resilient seal isnot suitable

because of high abrasive service or high temperature.Different hard facing materials are used such asENPcoatingand Stellite 6.The contact surface of the seatis not contouredto the ball surface hence may be remachined withoutchanging the seat.

P IS TON E F FECTS IN G LE P IS TO N E FF EC TThe ball isfixed on the horizontal axis.The seats are floatingand operate in the direction of the pressure.At low pressurethe sealing is achieved by the spring force. As the pressureincreases,the combined spring force and the fluid pushes theseatring against the ball, resulting in tight seal.

The fluidtrapped in the valve cavity issubjected to thermal expansionand contraction due to temperature variation, results inincreaseof pressure in the cavity.The seatwill pressure relieveautomatically when the force due to body cavity pressureexceeds the spring force and pushes the seat away from theball.DOU BL E BL OCK A ND BL EE DThe seats provide the positive seal at both upstream anddownstream independently. The fluid is blocked from thebody cavity, this facilitates to check the integrity of theupstream and downstream seats.
