Mandatory Registration

• Registration at school sites– Middle and High Schools – August 13-24– Elementary Schools; handled on a

school-by-school basis; often during first week of school

• Parents or Guardians are required to accompany students to registration

OUSD Immunization Campaign

• 80% of all district clerical staff received training on immunization requirements

• 100 clerical staff received training on entering and retrieving training on entering and retrieving immunization in Aeries

• 146 clerical staff received training on accessing information from the Bay Area Immunization Registry

• 6 back to school immunization clinics in collaboration with the County during the weeks of August 13th and 20th

• Back to School immunization clinic held at Madison Middle School in collaboration with the County

OUSD Immunization Campaign (2)

• Information on free immunization clinics sent to families in the summer mailing

• Flyers for free immunization clinics available at registration• Health Assistant provided by Health Services to the SAO to

check immunization records and enter data into Aeries• Printouts of immunizations from Aeries for all secondary

school students hand delivered to each school for reference during registration

• Instructions to clerical staff given in person regarding printouts

• Health Services available by phone for questions during registration

Textbooks

• A new Science adoption has been completed• OUSD ordered science textbooks for all K-12

students• We continue to order standards based

instructional materials for all students to comply with the Williams settlement criteria

• Each student in the Oakland Unified School District has a textbook for all content areas
