Our Classroom Goals
●These are the goals that we came up with as a class the first two weeks of school:◉ build a strong foundation of
geometry ◉ create an informal learning
environment where each student feels comfortable answering or asking questions in front of the class.
◉using technology to assist in evaluating, organizing and researching concepts of geometry (a 21st century learning skill).
Students are Expected to..
●Always be prepared for class●¤Have pencils, notebooks, graphing
calculator, and textbook during class
●Respect classroom rules●¤Must be seated when bell rings●¤Students must respect each others
answers whether it is correct or needs improvement
●Fully participate in all technology labs/projects◉Geometer's Sketchpad
●Students will be taught how to use a very helpful computer program called Geometer's Sketchpad.◉explore characteristics
Integrating 21st Century Learning into our Geometry Community:
Technology
Technology Lab: Geometer's Sketchpad ●There will be 101 project idea that each
student can choose from◉101 Project Ideas◉this lab allows students to think critically about
geometry◉this lab is strictly based off of technology and
geometry skills acquired in class◉a presentation will be expected from each
student at the completion of their projects project
Grade Break Down●Participation: 10%●Homework: 10%
◉ will be assigned and checked daily
●Quiz: 10%●Projects: 20 %
◉ 1 project will be assigned each marking period◉ additionally the Geometer's Sketchpad project
presentations will begin last month of school
●Tests: 40%
●A student's success is a group effort of the student, parent and teacher.
●So lets make your child's success a community effort.
●Every student needs the support of their teacher as well as the people they live with.
