TNDHA PROCEDURES
SECTION B-I
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS AND DUTIES OF OFFICERS
1. Must have served as an officer on a component level.
2. Shall serve as a member of the Board of Trustees, holding no more than one (1) voting position.
3. Shall represent the general membership to the best of their ability.
4. Shall be familiar with TNDHAs bylaws, policies, and procedures.
5. Shall be familiar with the parliamentary procedures guidelines in this manual.
6. Shall review the Policy and Procedures Manual periodically for deadline dates of various responsibilities.
7. Shall submit a written and financial report at each BOT meeting in the form prescribed by the president.
8. Shall notify the president fifteen (15) days in advance if unable to attend a Board meeting or annual session.
9. Shall give written notification immediately to the president if any prolonged absence from TNDHA activities is necessary.
10. Shall submit an itemized expense account four (4) weeks prior to annual session to the Council on Finance including only expenses pertaining to TNDHA.
11. Shall, upon completion of term, attend the BOT New Members Orientation to:
a. Pass on the Bylaws and Policy and Procedures Manual.
b. Provide a file containing:
i. A list of all activities during term.
ii. Any proposed or passed resolutions pertaining to the office.
iii. Any pertinent correspondence.
iv. A list of suggestions.
c. Answer any questions the successor may have.
12. Shall participate in Strategic Planning Session
13. Shall promptly submit requests for reimbursement of budgeted expenses to the treasurer.
14. Shall submit all budget line item over-expenditures and non-line-item reimbursement requests to the Council on Finance for review and presentation to the Board of Trustees for a recommendation.
15. Shall be suspended or terminated from their leadership capacity(elected officer, committee chair, or council member) in TNDHA if their license has been suspended by the Board of Dentistryor by failure to execute the duties of the office or position as outlined in the TNDHA Procedure manual. The suspended leader can petition the Board of Trustees for reinstatement if their license is restored.
16. Shall address any Inquiry Forms according to protocol.

SECTION B-II
SPECIFIC DUTIES OF OFFICERS
A. PRESIDENT
1. EXECUTIVE RESPONSIBILITIES
a. The President shall serve as:
i. the official TNDHA representative at all professional functions.
ii. chair of the Board of Trustees, presiding at all meetings.
iii. ex-officio member of all councils.
b. The President shall:
i. call special meetings of the Board of Trustees and House of Delegates as necessary.
ii. follow guidelines in this manual and present proposed council chairs and members for Board approval at the post-annual session meeting.
iii. Shall visit components/Dental Hygiene schools on an alternating schedule. Even numbered components will be visited during even years and odd numbered components will be visited
