Living Coasts, on theharbourside, is now home totwo female European otters.The two are mother anddaughter; the mother was bornat Stuttgart Wilhelma Zoo inGermany in August 2003 andher daughter at Edinburgh Zooin October last year.Living Coasts keepers MaddyMillin and Libor Mach drovethe 800 mile or 1200 kilometreround trip to Edinburgh Zoo tobring them to Devon.The attraction – a registeredcharity – has created a newexhibit called Otter Rapidswhich has both fresh and saltwater pools, a gushing stream,

grass, sand and stones and apond with an underwaterviewing window. It has beenbuilt on the site of the seaducks pool – the ducks havemoved to Penguin Beach.Living Coasts Director ElaineHayes said: “Otters are busy,charismatic, sociable animals– they are a terrific addition toour collection. End shows as they are now! Colin Matthews, has once again, brought together an exceptional cast, including Torbay’s Got Talent

winner Stephanie Blackler and runner up, just back from the West End herself, 10-year-old Lily Laight.She performed in the original West End cast of Matilda, and in recent weeks has been filming the newmovie, ‘Therese Raquin’, due for release later this year. She will also be appearing in Les Miserablesthe movie released in 2013.

The production is stunning, with the quality of the show as always very compelling, with amazingrenditions of so many classics, including “I Dreamed A Dream,” “Somewhere Over The Rainbow” and“Bring Him Home” which, all seem to get the most amazing reaction from the audience. With ambientlighting and the warm intimate atmosphere of the theatre just adding to the whole evenings experience.

The show is running weekly, every Thursday, until the 20th September, with curtain up at8.15pm, I can confidently highly recommend this production on every level. Why go to Londonwhen you can witness a little West End magic right on your doorstep!
