Hey Division 20,

Hope you all enjoyed this past summer! I know you are all prob-ably incredibly busy with the amount of schoolwork you havebeen receiving, and September is usually one of the busiest KeyClub months of the year. Within this newsletter, you’ll find infor-mation on upcoming deadlines, as well as important events in-cluding RTCs, Fall Rally, Trick or Treat for UNICEF, the upcomingDivisional Project - The ELIMINATE hands, and DCON.

All club presidents and advisors should have received the dis-trict mailing already.

I must emphasize, this newsletter issue is rather important, so I’dlike everyone to browse over the entire thing. I know theamount of Key Club work, coupled with schoolwork might beoverwhelming but please keep in mind that I’m here to helpand to make your lives easier. If you need absolutely anything, feel free to contact me! Good luck with everything!

Yours in Caring and Service,Rocky Trifari

Kiwanis Family Picnic Recap

Numerous members from each of the several Ki-

wanis Family Clubs gathered in Toms River,

New Jersey this past summer to be together for

the annual Kiwanis Family Picnic. The day

started off with beautiful, nice, warm weather.

We got to enjoy a variety of different foods dur-

ing the barbeque all served buffet style. We

walked around in the sand, shared stories, and

got to make new friends.

At one point, we all got together and engaged in this

year’s service project: a beach clean up. Everyone worked

together to pluck out the weeds growing around the dune

grass. By the time we finished, we had the beach looking

spotless.

Unfortunately, as the days progressed, the weather took a

turn for the worse and it started to pour. We managed to

make it really fun though. Volunteers lined up with

garbage bags, then Circle K members shoveled

sand into our garbage bags, and then we tossed

them in front of the entrances to build walls be-

cause the building we were in was actually start-

ing to flood a little bit! We laughed about how

crazy and unexpected the whole thing was and

played a game of jeopardy run by some members

from Circle K! It turned out to be one of the best

days of my whole summer.

Regional Training Conference Recap

Special thanks to everyone who took the time

to attend any of the Regional Training Confer-

ences held this service year. The three Fall Re-

gional Training Conferences are now complete

and all three of them turned out to be a suc-

cess! I was able to attend both the Central RTC

at the Piscataway High School and the North

RTC at the Roxbury High School and both of

them were a ton of fun! I tend to enjoy the Re-

gional Training Conferences even more in the

fall than the ones in the spring because of the

high number of attendees in the fall! It’s great

seeing so many Key Clubbers ready to learn in

the morning. I got to teach a variety of work-

shops including the Secretary workshop, KEYp-

ing it Klassy, Key Club 411, Service, and many

more. It was great. Thanks again to everyone

who took the time to go, you have no idea how

much I appreciate it!

*Also, special thanks to Ms. Barbato and all of

my officers from Roxbury High School for

doing a fantastic job! You guys were great!

Advocacy Bracelet Sale

How can you get one?

Each club will recieve the amount

of advocacy bracelets that they

have requested. Try to have sales

throughout October and early

November.

Advocacy Bracelets

The New Jersey District Board is proud to announce that we will now

be selling advocacy braceletes to raise money for the ELIMINATE Proj-

ect! The braceletes will be the same size and same lettering as a typical

"Livestrong" bracelet and will feature the saying "BElieve in YOUrself".

They will be light blue and sold for $1 each.

Why should you get one?

The bracelets were designed to

raise awareness about this year’s

advocacy focuses, which include

anti-bullying, self-image, and sui-

cide prevention. We hope that see-

ing this saying on someones wrist

could give that person the will to

fight for another day.
